The new amazon service seems pretty decent. I've heard they offer more than 600 games for $10 or less.

I'm glad the one post you decided to make was this informative

I'm really thinking about hitting up that SR2 deal. Does anyone still play it here? I bought the first one for $20 and hardly touched it because of those stupid side missions you had to do.

I'm buying it for the single player. I had it from Gamefly for a while, but it's a long game, so I decided to return it and wait for a good deal on it. I really enjoyed what I played of it.

Do Collector Editions hold much value down the road? I've been wanting to get SR2, but $35 is more than I wanted to spend. If I can get most of it back later from a resell, then I should go ahead and jump on it.

This is tempting, as I've been meaning to pick it up at some point... I kind of wish the basic game itself were on sale, too, for a little less.

SR2 is on sale at Circuit City as well. 50% off. I saw a bunch at my local one.

ya, but at that point you might as well spend an extra $5 (less after you count tax) and get the LE.

I almost bit on this one today, most of what I've heard has been like Mercs 2; "technically flawed, but very fun" which works for me.
Turns out I have the regular edition coming to me from goozex as of today, good thing I didn't order it.
I don't think any modern collector's edition of a game really "holds its value"...I've seen plenty of GTA4 and Fallout 3 CEs widely available for sale. One guy on my local craigslist is selling the goodies from Fallout 3 for a little less than the CE markup.
I'd probably say don't buy any CE as an "investment", buy it only if you're willing to pay the extra bucks for the extra goodies, which in some cases are "worth" it and others, not. RE5 and GTA4 give you a duffel bag/satchel, so that's at least something usable....though the SR2 poster might be useful, I personally don't need a 512 MB USB stick, although if I were to buy the game, I probably would go ahead and pay the 5 buck premium for the CE. 20 bucks, not so much.

I still play it. I have gone back to it to get some Achievements. It's the 2nd greatest game of 2008, behind Fallout 3.

Speaking of Mercs 2, just wanted to make sure everyone knew the 360 version is 9.99 after RZ automatic promo this week at BB.

That's what I picked up last night instead. I figure it's only a matter of time before you can get SR2 for $20 or less.

Amazon assembles $20 Banjo: Nuts & Bolts deal
by Dustin Burg { Mar 4th 2009 at 2:50PM }

Today's Amazon.com video game Deal of the Day is none other than Rare's Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, which has been reduced to $19.98.

While some may see the reduction in price as a sign that Amazon.com wants to unload its unwanted Nuts and Bolts inventory, we're optimists in this situation. We predict the game has been such a success that most every 360 owner already has the title, so (to secure a few more game purchases) Rare partnered with Amazon to sell Banjo's latest adventure at a 50% discount.

Hey, we never said we were logical optimists.

Amazon enters pre-owned games market

Online retailer Amazon has entered the pre-owned videogames market, with the beta launch of a new service.

Users send Amazon their games, and in return are issued a gift card for a pre-arranged amount.

The retailer already allows users to sell their own games through the site, but this is the first time Amazon has taken a more active role.

On PlayStation 3 titles, Amazon is currently offering users USD 33 for Capcom's Street Fighter IV, and at the other end of the scale, USD 9 for Ubisoft's Far Cry 2.

Amazon is the latest retailer to jump on the pre-owned market, traditionally an area for specialist games stores.

In the US Toys R Us has begun trialling a service, while the UK's HMV launched its second hand offering last year.

Be aware that many Targets have this for the 360 clearance priced at $14.98. Several of the Targets around me had dozens of copies.

Bought mine at that $14.98 price on Monday. Seems to be an okay game with an evil camera from hell. I battle the camera more than any enemy in the game.

I can't tolerate shitty cameras long enough to play otherwise great games. :(
