I wonder how many Amazon sales on cross-platform titles you have to take advantage of to "pay for" a new 360? ;)

^^
LOL....thanks for that. I think I'll pass even at $20. Maybe rent it one of these days.

I played thru the game... definitely worth it for $20 esp if you have a decent sized screen/monitor

Thats awesome and so addictive. I used to spend hours on the old Commodore and original PC's and was captivated by these games. I remember actually going to a bar to play asteriods before we had a gaming system at home.

It's all about Prince of Persia today.

PS3 LE - $30
360 - $26
Wii - $15
DS - $15

OMG, so tempted! Especially since it is above the FSSS threshold.

Is it worth $26 for the play-through?

Starting with Assassin's Creed two years ago, followed by Prince of Persia this past year, Ubisoft is making it loud and clear not to buy their games within the first month of release. Both games were featured on numerous sales and dropped by 50% within a few months. Even the Wii Rayman titles dropped rather quickly.

That being said, I paid full price for it and enjoyed every minute of it. It's definitely worth $26. It will take more than one play through to get all the achievements, btw.

I paid (sort of) full price and felt it was totally worth it too.

That reminds me, I should go through the DLC since my girl ran off with my copy of Dead Rising.

Started way before that. I remember thinking about getting Sands of Time when it came out, but I couldn't get to the store. Then like a month later, it includes a free copy of Splinter Cell (Circuit City promotion) and I hop on it, only to have the game drop to like $20 the next month.

Right, they have already had a reputation of quick price drops, which is why I avoided PoP at launch... only to pick it up less than a month later for half price.

R6V2 was another one I wish I didn't pay full price for.

You make the discount sound like a bad thing. Every game drops in price and the ones that don't, well those companies are just greedy bitches.

I don't know if it's always the company's call though. Some games just get marked down by the retailers to get rid of excess inventory.

I think another Ubisoft game that dropped soon was Beyond Good and Evil, back in the day. Wasn't it $20 within a few months, due to poor sales?

I think it's a terrific game and well worth $26...especially when it can still be traded or sold for close to the same value.

But ubisoft games pretty much across the board drop in price almost immediately after launch. At least, that's the perception I have of them. It's not a bad thing for us, but it's certainly bad for them if people start waiting for discounts before purchasing their top tier titles. How did the latest PoP do, anyway?

They usually go on sale pretty quick but retain their full price for a long time to come. I know Assassin's Creed was $39.99 on sale within weeks of its release but went back to $59.99 for a long time there after. Call of Duty 4 and 5 were the same way. It's actually a smart way to do it for games with multiplayer as nothing sells games better than wanting to play with your friends.

I have no problem having paid full price for that one considering it has been my most used game of all the titles I own. Online TH with some buddies can waste hours of your life.

I don't have the hard facts, but I remember AC dropping like a rock. It was 20 bucks retail by May, I think, which is pretty fast for an official price drop. The only reason I remember is because the used trade-in prices dropped drastically.

Less than 24 hrs later, the PS3 CE is in my hot little hands! Did I mention how much I love Amazon Prime?
I though the CE box would be fancier than that. Oh well, I'm sure it's worth the extra $3 it cost over the 360 version (I hope, anyway).
Looking forward to trying this one out tonight.

Yes, that dropped it price REAL fast. I was working at EB Games at the time, and I remember it being $10 in the blink of an eye.

The 3rd Splinter Cell was another Ubisoft title to drop really quickly as well. I remember us having a $29.99 special on it only weeks after it came out.

Just got mine in the mail. Surprise, surprise, it was the 360 LE
