Kinda both Amazon and games deals related:

$20 Amazon gift card for $10: http://livingsocial.com/deals/21336?...64&rpi=4027064

Verified through various deals websites. Can be used for anything, but I'm thinking points!

I got it for $29.99 and promptly sent it back. Just not as fun as it used to be back in the day.

$249? Good job, Nintendo. More than a Wii. Almost as much as a PS3/360.

Pass.

That is more than a 360.

3DS? 3 Dumb Shits? That is a lot of cash for a handheld.

Got this chart off Joystiq - considering what the 3DS promises to do (and considering how many people in this country actually enjoy the concept of 3D...even though I don't understand it), I'm sure it'll do just fine. The DSi is $170...it's not that much more.

YEAR SYSTEM NAME PRICE *ADJ. PRICE
(1989) Game Boy (Nintendo) $90 $153
(1989) Atari Lynx $190 $324
(1990) TurboExpress (NEC) $250 $405
(1991) Game Gear (Sega) $150 $233
(1995) Virtual Boy (Nintendo) $180 $250
(1998) Game Boy Color $80 $105
(2001) Game Boy Advance $100 $121
(2003) N-Gage (Nokia) $300 $350
(2004) Nintendo DS $130 $146
(2005) PSP (Sony) $250 $272
(2009) Nintendo DSi $170 N/A
(2009) PSP Go $250 N/A
(2011) Nintendo 3DS $250 N/A

Argh... first my Little Big Planet 2 LE entered shipping state before I could cancel it to take advantage of the $20 credit on the regular edition, and now it's part of the B2G1F sale?

edited to add: well, I see in my email that they did give me .45 on a preorder price match guarantee. Whee!

I rather have a Turbo Express rather than a 3ds. But that's just me.

My wife called me to tell me about this deal.

Heck, buy 10 of those and you've almost paid off that 3DS.

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

You can only order one. There are some referral links in some other websites so you can get it for $5. ($20 GC for $5!!!!).

Of course that deal has been in all the major deals websites, so I can expect a few issues with it. I still ordered one, I paid $10.

Using different emails, I ordered 4.

Same. I hope it works and it's not some scam where I now belong to the Living Social club that costs me $11/month to get exclusive invitations to super deals across the web.

Nah. Living Social's legit. I think they're just desperate to catch up with Groupon.

When did this place turn into CAG?

Got this from PSPMinis.com. Hot Shot Shorties (4 mini game collections) are $4.99 each at Amazon, but they also have the bundle (all 4 individual releases) for $4.99. On PSN they are $4.99 individual or $14.99 for the bundle, so I don't know if Amazon is running a sale or it's a pricing error.

So, no one has received the Amazon GCs from LivingSocial yet, right? I mean an update of the order or something.

They just said on Twitter that they've started sending the codes out... but there were more than 1.3 million purchased. So it's taking awhile to send them all.

I got my code this morning. Unfortunately I only got 1 of the 4 I signed up for but it's still a great deal.

There's a lot of fail in the $250 and up range. Poor 3DS.

Same for me.

I bought two with two different credit cards. Got them both, so I guess that was the key.

fujishig 01-21-11 11:36 AM

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

I'd also think they were looking out for similar names/addresses of people signing up for the deal from the same referrer link, since otherwise that opens it up to rampant fraud (since I think the referrer gets the card for free with every three referrals).

jdpatri 01-21-11 12:57 PM

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

I'm convinced it was the referrer link within the same household. I didn't even think about getting the thing for free. I just wanted an easy link to the page when I signed in from my wife's email. I used different cards.

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

I don't think that's it. I signed up for it myself, and then used my referral link to sign up my wife. Same address, different credit card number. We both got the code.
