This did the trick. 1080i also worked. The green lines must be a bit of overscan for 1360x768, since it's a bit wider than 16x9.

All of these Live problems are a bit frustrating because I've also had some issues with my router, and it makes it real hard to deduce if the tweaks I've made are fixing anything when Live itself is wonky.

XBL was definitely Tango Uniform for a while last night, and the support page had a blurb about it.

The frustrating part is that my wife is out of town all week, so I have a free pass for gaming. Curses!!!

Microsoft's Xbox division turns a profit (again!)
Posted Apr 25th 2008 10:15AM by Dustin Burg

Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD) is one happy division, because for a second fiscal quarter they've turned a nice profit and are Microsoft's shiny badge of success.

For the third fiscal quarter, Microsoft revealed that the Xbox 360's EDD turned an operating profit of $89 million seeing an operating income of $614 million which is a major improvement of last year's $746 million operating loss. Analyzing the numbers further, we see that third quarter EDD sales rose 68% to $1.58 billion (up 35% to $6.57 billion for the nine month period) and Microsoft shipped 1.3 million consoles in the third quarter alone. Oh, and the reason for such impressive numbers? High demand for the Xbox 360 which now has cumulative sales of 19 million units. A 74% increase over last year.

I guess the X360 is doing pretty good even with the infamous RRoD issue. Let's see what happens at the end of Summer. The only game i can think of right now is Gears of War 2, Collector Edition or Limited Edition day one for me

Alan Wake - Oct. 1 2008
Halo Wars - No release date yet.

I'm also waiting for Fallout 3. I already preordered the Collectors Edition from Amazon. It's supposed to be released in Oct. 7

I'll believe Alan Wake is coming this year when i actually see it on the shelf - it has been delayed several times.

The same with Too Human. I am looking forward to both of them.

For this year (after GTAIV) i'm really looking forward to Fallout 3. Halo Wars i will get only if it also releases on the PC.

The new 50 Cent game, oh yes:

I love that trailer, just love it. It'll likely suck, but the trailer rocks.

The plot:

50 Cent and G-Unit are putting on a show somewhere in the middle east. The crowd are pleased, but the promoter refuses to pay 50 and G-Unit. 50 is not going to leave without his money, so he hassles and threatens the promoter. The promoter does not give them money, but a very valuable diamond encrusted skull. 50 and G-Unit are about to leave the country when they are ambushed and the skull is taken away from them. The game then continues with 50 trying to get what's rightfully his and find out who ambushed him and why.
