What's the best deal for Xbox Live? I had the one-month trial which I pretty much wasted, but now I want to be online for GTAIV. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best value for signups?

Yeah, 49/year is a pretty good deal IMO

Plus, if you are getting GTA IV anyway, get it there, because you get a free $10 GC. Then apply that to Live, $30 effective out the door plus taxes .

Guess I'll just try to get it at CC tomorrow, and I'll try to get GTAIV at the same time.

I saw a preview of the 50 Cent game in EGM. Had it not been the May issue, I would have been convinced that it was this year's "April Fool".

Has anyone used HDMI cables from Monoprice.com? I was looking at the cheap ones for 6.50 or so....just wondered if they worked pretty well.

I've been using an HDMI cable from them on my new TV, and have no complaints. I also got one of their HD cables for my Wii that works just fine.

Check your local Toys R Us. The one by me has the Vision Bundle which includes the camera, 12 mos LIVE, 2 arcade games and a wired headset for $39.99. YMMV of course.

Can someone please explain why the hell OXM took the time and effort to put on the Japanese demo version of Turok on their newest demo disc? It appears to be exactly the same other than the Japanese subtitles and dialogue. Just curious.

PGR4 is the best racing game on the 360 - it's easyly worth $60, and for $15, it's pretty much the best deal you can get - the game is one of the best looking titles on the 360, and it's practically an endless game.

I haven't played PGR4 yet, but Forza 2 is amazing, and also pretty cheap now.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do these work for current subscribers? Does it just add the month to the end of your subscription? Or are these promo cards for new subscribers only?

Not just for newbies...they work on exisiting subs. I have gotten 1 month ones and always add them on. I never worry about the 2 day cards though.

Since there is talk about PGR4...Amazon currently has Sega Rally Revo new for $20.84. Definitely fun with the wheel if you have one. Not as good as PGR4 but a decent racing game. It is more arcade is isn't the chore to handle like DiRT is.

DAMNIT! I somehow ended up with a corrupt RezHD game save. I had to start over. What sucks is that all the achievements are time based (i.e. play 10 hours) that also unlock other modes. So everything is essentially reset back to 0. Damn.

On the bright side I decided to play straight through last night and finally finished Area 5.

I just bought a still unopened 360 Pro with a Best Buy warranty and was curious if anyone could expand a bit on the DRM situation described above.

I've never had an Xbox or Xbox 360 before so I'm still kinda fuzzy as to how a replacement console(be it from MS or BB) affects your Xbox Live experience, but from what I've read it seems that all your downloads are tied your original console rather than your hard drive. Therefore when your system craps out and you receive a replacement, you can only access your XBLA games and DLC if you're online due to some verification requirement. Have I got this sorta-kinda right?

If so, what would be the advantage besides length of the MS warranty as opposed the the BB one in addressing the online/offline DRM issues?
