I held out on Heroic to be free but bit the bullet on the Legendary maps. All three are excellent. Of course two you know already and have been tweaked for H3, and Ghost Town is excellent in it's own right. I think these three are definitely worth the scratch.

Does anyone know if the COD4 maps are going to be free later on in the future? Like the Halo 3 maps.

I believe the maps will be free at some point in the future, once the revenue stops coming in from people buying them.

As far as i know the CoD2 maps never became free. I can't imagine these will either.

If you buy the GOTY edition (or gold edition or whatever) it comes with a token for a free download of the maps. CoD2 did the exact same thing as well.

edit: I'm an idiot and left out the word "never" which kind of completely changed what i was saying.

The CoD2 maps never became free, so I don't think CoD4's will be either, "game of the year" editions aside.

Xbox 360 System update now available (no new features)
A few minutes ago, the team released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll recieve a prompt to accept this mandatory update. This update contains code to ‘prepare for future growth of the service.’ There are no other changes or enhancements in this update…in other words no new features. The next obvious question you’ll have is about the Spring update. At this point we have nothing to announce, and the moment there is information to share I will do so.

Well I got COD4 and I played through ~30 minutes of the singe-player and one of the multiplayer matches. I liked MP better than COD2 already but one thing I love about Halo's multiplayer is how "fluid" it is. COD2's MP always seemed really jerky and slow, and I'm not talking about the online component. COD4 seems to be a halfway point between the two.

The Iron Man Demo is up and I gotta say it's pretty cool playing it. I'm sure most here will hate it but that's nothing new.

Jesus man it wasn't that bad.

Are your fingers broken? Did the Target markers and auto aim/lock on targeting system confuse you?

it was all too automatic, just point and let the game go - very boring. It was also very bland looking. And I didn't care for the flying mechanics either. Keep in mind that I tried out the demo after a grueling round of Ikaruga, where I actually finished the game with only 3 continues.

Iron Man was fucking terrible. The controls screw up the game way too much.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but will agree with everyone else about the terrible controls out of fear of being ostracized for saying anything else.

So yea.....got my XBOX360 on Thursday, booted it up a couple times on Thursday.....tried this morning and had the RROD already!!!! I was like WTF!!! So I took it back to Best Buy and got a different one. Went home, popped in the game I got on Thursday NHL 2008...wasn't working and it locked up....My brother is under the idea that it could be the game that caused my hardware failure. Any thoughts? Should I not use the game again and return that as well?

Not if you didn't send in one that had it. Just hope for one that wasn't used as
someone's primary DVD player as well as gaming console.

It was going to be out for maintenance for a bit today, i thought i had read it was done though. I haven't personally tried... i just remember getting a message from Live on the 360 about a scheduled outage today for some minor update (with no new features).

Yeah... I can't connect from the dashboard, but once I start a game it connects.

Just like it was doing at the end of last year for like a month.
