I've heard a lot more buzz about this than normal, so just to make sure I got in on release day I preordered it from EB. Just a heads up, apparently it comes with a free team hat of your choice.
Probably a crappy hat, but free is free. Only comes with preorders.

Check your Wal-Mart stores, guys (and gals). I was able to score a copy last night. I have played a few games so far, and am loving it so far. As good as the demo was, the retail version seems to play even better, the fielding particularly. It feels a bit "looser" and seems to allow for a bit more freedom in controlling your players, to where it won't always just kind of lock into an animation when grounders are approaching your infielders.
The last game I played was insane. I played as the A's against the Giants, and I finally won in the bottom of the 14th when I smoked a high and outside fastball with Eric Chavez just over the wall in left center.

Can't wait for MLB '08: The Show to come out this Tuesday.

I bought last year's game almost a year ago, when I first picked up my PSP, but never opened it. Yesterday, I returned it to Blockbuster and got $45 for it. Future Shop is selling this game for $50 this week ($10 off,) so I'll be picking it up tonight or tomorrow.
I just checked Future Shop's site and a store near me apparently has it in. I don't know if their computer system will sell it to me though, but I'm going to check on my way home from class. I can't wait to play it.

I checked Wal-mart and Future Shop yesterday, but neither store had it out. I'm hoping Future Shop will have it out when I go there on my way home from class today. Their site says the location near me has it in stock.

I've got my copy coming from Amazon. I just picked up a PS3 last week mainly as a BR player, but I have picked up a few games(seems silly not to get a few games for it). I haven't really played any video games since the Sega Genesis days(18 years ago)! Once I build up a certain level of proficiency, I'll be up for some online gaming.

In real life, my favorite team is the A's, but they will be utter garbage both in real life and in the game this year, so I can't see myself using them online much, unless I am going up against the Pirates, DRays, or the like.
I may have spoken too soon about the online play, though, I am afraid. I am now hearing quite a bit of unfavorable impressions on it. Boo-urns...

This is my first time playing The Show, I usually buy 2k games. I just finished a Mets vs Rockies game. I lost 1-0 but I loved every moment of it. Get this game!
