I don't think they'll be any more than $49. You can import one from JPN for $59 now. My guess is they'll stay at the same cost of the sixaxis.

i'm waiting for Uncharted and Stranglehold to hit $30 or so (most likely a promotion or used).
Not sure about CoD4 and DMC4 yet (i.e. X360 or PS3), depends on price. However, for DMC4, most likely leaning toward th PS3 version (still waiting for the X360 demo available for silver members).

I picked up a copy of Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga and didn't notice until I got home that the back of the game says "Number of Players: 2". Is that up to 2 (which I would've expected to see "1-2") or can I really not play this game by myself?

Finally bought one last week. Mainly for use as a Blu-ray/DVD player, until Metal Gear and the Final Fantasy games come out. Probably get Resistence at some point.

The link is blocked for me but are we sure these PS3 numbers aren't "shipped" as opposed to actual sales? I swear when I heard the NPD numbers the 360 had sold a couple million more units than the PS3 in 07.

Of course, that might be a turn off for people never got a PS2 to start with...
In your scenario, the only people in that 120M PS2 set that would buy a PS3 are those that want it for BR capabilities or PS3 games. If that were the case then they'd be going in droves the entire time.
Of course since the PS2-BC models were phased out this year, it is entirely possible that the surge in sales was due to the frantic collection of the "full" hardware solutions.

i'm simply replying to MC's comment about the portion of PS2's out there, i.e. PS3's number is not a biggie when you factoring in that there are 120 million PS2s out there (i.e. a much bigger fan base). Just pointing out that one of the reason why not much of the 120 million PS2s didn't upgrade to a PS3 b/c they already have a PS2. If on the other hand, a $400 during launch with no BC, 40 gb, the PS3 sale could have been better (even though there will be outrages why no BCs).

The PS3 sales numbers are a bit hard to believe, I thought there were getting out sold by the 360 2:1 and Wii 4:1 throughout most of the year, and only pulled even in monthly sales at the end of the year.

NPD is only for North America.....
Sony changed their numbers to sold from shipped about a year ago, also remember PS3 didn't go on sale in EU until March.

Okay, thanks. Sorry for the misuse of terms, I'm not very savvy with any of this type of stuff. I asked about whether or not the system would be able to play my videos off of it before and I heard something about the system not having updates to play .avi files. It's cool that the problem seems to be fixed and maybe now I can think more seriously about picking one up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Sony sold just as many PS3's as Microsoft sold 360s in the first year.( ie 360s first year release vs PS3s first year release).
