Re: Burnout Paradise

I was expecting $15-$20, especially with the regular game being down to $20 itself. Awesome!

Re: Burnout Paradise

Can not wait. $12.99 seems pretty fair.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Hope that's true. $12.99 is a fair price. Lower than I expected.

It's true, confirmed today in the new podcast that can be found here

and here
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3lHjaoAGXfM&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3lHjaoAGXfM&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

I'm just so excited after seeing Part 2. My mouth is watering over the jumps and hopefully some sweet new cars. And 12.99 is great for an entire new island.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Next question: how much hard-drive space is it gonna take? I'm starting to run low.

Re: Burnout Paradise

That looks cool!

Good timing ... I just received my Platinum Trophy on the original game.

Nice, the only thing holding me back is the stupid mugshot trophy. I don't have a webcam and I'm not about to pay $20-$40 for a trophy because I doubt I will use it again. I have every other trophy sans Premium content trophies (party, cops & toy trophies -thank goodness they don't count towards the premium).

Exactly, I still think those trophies should count towards your percentage only if you own the content.

I think they're putting this island out at a good price so everyone will get it and be able to play it together. What they might do instead is nickel and dime us with the add-ons for the island. Add-ons like races, events and crash-modes, where you just buy what you're interested in. The island does like like it's set up for some classic crash mode stuff.

That would be great, it would make much more sense to do it that way and when you downloaded an add-on it downloads the trophy info too.

I'm just glad that it's so cheap for all the work put into it and the integration into the regular game. It's not separate from the rest of paradise, you can readily go back and forth. You can also do regular challenges on BSI (such as land a barrel roll) and they said you can even take your bike over and set day/night road rules. And you can use the new cars in downtown paradise and vice versa. 5pm ish tomorrow can't get here soon enough!

Re: Burnout Paradise

Spent about an hour on Big Surf Island. Already got about 2/3 of the Smashes, Billboards and Mega Jumps. Of course it's that last 1/3 that takes forever to find.

You get a feeling that the developers learned a lot in the past year. This expansion feels really good. Lots of action in a tight space. I wish the rest of Paradise City was this well mapped out.

Since you're in the US, how did you already get it?

And I'm pretty excited just for 1.90 update! lol apparently they added an option to skip the network page when starting the game and added the paint jobs back to bikes so I can get the USA paint for the GP Competition. And they updated all the billboards around the city and (edit) I mean the ad billboards, not the smash billboards

It was up on the 360 around 8am EST. The COD maps were up around 5-6am.

Between the Burnout expansion and the COD map pack, I'll be busy for the next couple weeks.

Duh I should have looked at your sig. I'm updating right now, and I read somewhere there might be Double XP this weekend for WaW. If true, I'm not going to be sleeping between that and Big Surf Island.

Yep. COD's Double XP has already started (at least on the 360). Finally unlocked Prestige this morning.

On the Xbox it is 1.20 gigs.
And you can delete the other older Burnout Updates. 1.9 includes everything.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Yeah, looks like the 1.9 update patch includes the island even if you don't buy - buying it just unlocks it. I wonder what the 2.0 patch will include.

Re: Burnout Paradise

The 1.9 update patch on PSN is two files; one is 173 MB, while the other is 431 MB.

Not only is the expansion good the cars they have added are worth the $12.99. The Dune Buggy and boost version are cool, but when I got all the signs and jumps I unlocked
Spoiler:
toy General Lee and toy Delorian.
Needless to say those two cars are awesome. I've already collected all the trophies except for the online one which I will get this weekend. As usual the trophies are pretty easy to get. Overall though with the new cars and new things to do this is well worth the cost.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Downloaded Big Surf as soon as I got home. I realized I hadn't actually played the game in several months and in that time I apparently forgot how to play the game well...I was sucking it up big time. But this update was totally worth the cost and this will likely suck up my entire weekend.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but Big Surf was the last of the previously announced DLC, right? As far as we know, there's nothing else in the works?
