Yep...always.

And anytime a start a freeburn, I get 8 people within 15-20 minutes usually.

Same here. This has to be one of the most played PS3 games online. There are people on day or night.

I could be wrong, but, I think all you need to do is complete 100% of the "original" trophies to earn the platinum. You won't be 100%, but you will earn the platinum trophy. I have the platinum, but I'm not 100% (anymore) due to the DLC I don't want.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Now let's guess and bitch about it's price. I hope it's no more than ten bucks, but it'll more likely be 15 or 20.

I will have no complaints on price for this one even if it is $20.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Keep in mind, way back when they first announced the new island, Criterion said it would be free.

We’d mentioned in a previous podcast that this would be free content, but we can now confirm that it will be premium paid-for content.

Re: Burnout Paradise

I'm hoping for $15 but thinking it'll be $20. It looks pretty awesome though.

I picked this game up a month ago and love it and how people are always online. I need the Wildcats trophy the other day and was worried I'd never get 8 people to get it. I started a lobby, had 8 there in 20 min and had the trophy in under 30. My biggest complaint with this game is Criterion is basically making you pay for the Platinum trophy if you don't own a usb camera. I think that's the WORST decision I've seen in a long time. It's all I have left from getting the platinum.

I don't think any add-on content has been that pricey for any game...few full games are even that much.

I'd guess $15 on the high side, $10 on the low side...and based on what I've seen, I think I'd pay $15, which is more than I payed for the game proper.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Shivering Isles for Oblivion was $20 - but then, that was huge - easily 25 hours of gameplay.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Actually, Shivering Isles was (and still is) $30. They had to introduce the 4000 point card just for that content.

I'm a little disappointed, since up until now I had continued to believe it would be free DLC. I'll happily pay 800 points for it, more than that and I'll pass as it's not a game I'm really into.

Re: Burnout Paradise

They've said that "The island is roughly the size of Downtown Paradise". That's not very big. Downtown is only 1/5 of the original game. Charging $15-$20 for that seems pretty expensive.

I'm a bit disappointed with Criterion. From the way they had been talking last year, I expected we'd end up with a couple expansion packs. The various updates/packs have been ok. A few new modes and cars. But I've been looking forward to real expansions. I haven't heard of anything past Big Surf Island. Is this going to be the end of it?

Anyways, I'm planning to buy it. Even if it's $20. But I'm hoping it's $10.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Perhaps a better way of explaining my prediction:

I think you can count on it being more than Cops and Robbers ($10) but less than MSRP for the full game ($20).

I'm thinking $15, and would be happy to see $12.99.

This was an achievement on the 360 version. When they introduced the trophies in the PS3 version, they basically just used the the same requirements as achievements.

That's the key point right there. There's no way they will put out DLC that is more expensive than the game itself.

Re: Burnout Paradise

...Just taking a moment to note how much this game rocks.

If I want to play games for a bit and just mess around, somehow I always end up playing Burnout Paradise. Is it just me?

Stoked for the Island at any price (but I hope it's reasonable).

Re: Burnout Paradise

Part 1 of 2 of the Big Surf Island tour:

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Ro2apT7hYw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Ro2apT7hYw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

I have to say this looks pretty awesome, which means it's definitely going to be overpriced (I'll be amazed if it's less than $20). Also (and maybe this is something they have yet to reveal), I think it would be beyond awesome if Big Surf was established as a new finish line for some of the existing events in Paradise City. At any rate, this looks like a true expansion for the game that I might be willing to pay $20 for. I wish they would have made a couple of different ways of getting there rather than just one bridge though.

Looks like Big Surf may only be $12.99 (source). If that's the case, I'm definitely in!
