Stupid question, possibly answered in the 14,155 previous posts in the RB threads or even *gasp* in the manual....
When viewing song lists, some tracks have an arrow. Downloaded content, sure, got that.
The blue dot next to a track? What does that mean?

Admittedly I don't have a very huge friend list, but I think every band on my list is at or under 260,000 fans (including my own). A lot of folks are hanging out at the Medium level

I bought all the songs....I'm a sucker for a sale, and though I wouldn't buy some of the CDs, the songs are fun to play. I'd like to see some Slayer and King Diamond, mainly to give my wife (our vocalist) a fit, although I think they each have some great tracks to offer each instrument. (I posted that last comment before, but I hope it was on another board, if not, I apologize.)

I generally play Medium. I can play most songs on Hard, but they're difficult. But my gf (who I usually play with) is definitely not good enough to play hard, and none of my other friends play often enough to do hard. So ya, I usually stick on Medium.

Plus, getting raped by the "random" songs is not fun (ever notice how they always pick the most difficult songs possible?)

Over the past few days my band hit the Hall of Fame and I beat Medium career on drums. I am now the official "fill-in" drummer. I bought some Zildjian Anti-Vibe sticks and they do make a difference. They're also a bit heftier/heavier, which I liked.

I'm still working on singing on Medium, and I started drumming on Hard. I even did the Weezer song on Expert. Then I tried In Bloom on Expert and promptly failed.

Pardon the density, but what's bonus about the songs? Bonus as in additional, over and above the 'required' setlists?

I'm about halfway through Medium solo tour, and our duo has got about 430 stars and 260k fans, so we're loitering at Medium as well. I think we bumped it up to Hard for one song, and it might have been a random, and we got booed off the stage in about four seconds, so either I/we suck or it was some of that rapeage you mention (or both). It's made doubly frustrating by the fact that for the songs with quick repeated notes like the QotSA song I just played, not only am I fighting the song, but I'm fighting the defective guitar.

One thing I wish about RB is that the DLC was more streamlined into the tour modes, both solo and band. I know Random will pick it but I wish there was some way to get it into the base setlists.

My guitar is f*cked.

After only playing for like 2 hours, it doesn't register when I strum up or down. I took it apart and saw that the plastic contacts were stuck in a down position. I flipped them back up, played again. After about 3 minutes they get stuck again.

Bastards.

So I've got my RMA and tracking number and a shipping label will arrive in the next day or two.

woo...freakin'....hoo.

I had a feeling this would happen after I felt how crappy and cheap the guitar felt. Maybe I should just suck it up and get some guitar hero guitars.

Damn site won't even let me register my game.

These are songs that are in the "bonus" tour on the Solo Tours. Most of the songs are by bands that Harmonix employees are in and a couple lesser-known songs.

A co-worker told me that over christmas his broke so he called to replace and had an unusually rude CSR. He filed a complaint and they are now sending him an additional guitar and a free game.

Finally beat GGaHT on Expert last night. I'd give it a try or two every couple days, and finally nailed it last night. I'm decent at guitar, but definitely enjoy doing vocals more.

You, sir, are my hero. That's the one song I'm missing, and I just can't seem to get it. I've played again and again, I've practiced at various speeds, I've tried the solo buttons, but nothing. I'll get up enough star power to get through the first series of sweeps, I think they're called, then fail on the next set. It's very Freebird-ish in that you play for what seems like an hour and a half just to fail at 85%.

So, has the rockband.com community site always been so slow? I don't even know why I signed up, the Leaderboards don't work (for me).

The sections I had problems with were the zig-zags and the last section /w descending quadruplets and then the descending triplets of forever. I finally got a decent technique of sliding one finger back and forth for the two zig-zag sections and can nail about 90% of those. I'd usually have to overdrive somewhere a little after the second section as I'd start dipping into the red, and never get enough overdrive to pass the last section. Well, last night I got just enough to last me through the last section and ended with a 4-star (80%). I also one-finger slide my way through the quadruplets and then just mashed fingers like crazy for the end. Maybe those tips will help.

It's been pretty slow off and on. I checked right now and it's pretty fast and I'm looking at the vocals leaderboards to see how I stack up. I'd like to put some more vocals people on my friends list to see how I stack up as well.

There's a weird bug with my "Rockers" page that shows all incarnations of my characters. On the day it released, I made a character and a friend accidentally formatted my memory card, so it shows the old one, and the one that I currently have. It's something they're aware of and are working on.

The community site is going to be completely full of win when they get everything up. Right now it's only got about 25-50% of the stuff they've said they're going to have on there.

Any singing tips? I've just finally started a singing career, started on medium. Half the time I miss words that I know I'm hitting, I don't know if I'm starting a fraction of a second early or ending a tad early or late, but it's frustrating on songs like Fortunate Son that I've heard a million times and have known by heart forever.

I didn't really have many problems, except with songs that I haven't heard too much (like the bonus songs). My playlist on my PC/work laptop/car is pretty much just the Rock Band soundtrack, so I listen to the songs constantly.

As for tips, I would say that the scrolling vocal style is easier (at least for me), and you can start the first word early to line up the pitch meter if you need to. Also, you don't have to sing it in their octave, as long as it's the same pitch. Hope those tips help. We need more vocals people out there!

Thanks, I'll try some more this weekend. Where do you have your mic sensitivity set?

Depends on the situation. I usually have it about 3/4, but crank it up when I'm not belting out the tunes or turn it way down when I'm at work, since it picks up too much of the surround sound with the mic sensitivity up.

Just got back from Gamestop. My wallet is now $160 lighter and the trunk of my car about 20lbs heavier. Used a 10% off coupon which helped.

I am now in the Rock Band fold.

So I hear that next week we get a Van Halen song, but most importantly Blink 182- I Miss You. I never thought my favorite band from the past 13 or so years would make it into this game, if it shows up next week. I'm prepared to get flamed for liking Blink, and not Ozzy or Maiden or something, but tough...I want some good current music dammit! Oh, and they are 80pts again.
