Mike, can you explain to me how Groupies work? I have some higher scores than you in M/H/E (and to make it clear I'm just using this as info and not bragging, please note that!!) but I have much less groupies.

What am I not doing?

Sundog and other players in the chicago area:

I just registered for this one! There's actually money involved as a prize. And it's sponsored by Tweeter, Gameworks and Toyota Schaumburg so it should bring some solid competition.

Edit: Looks like $700 in prizes not money. Oh well, still should be fun.

I'm not sure about that, but a live tourney sure beats the experience I get over the internet with the verbal abuse I constantly get...

I just like that it's 18 and over - eliminating the kids in high school that post on scorehero.com who would absolutely destroy me.

It's also a great opportunity to hustle... I'd be more useful acting as a dupe than in any actual competition.

Just make sure your fingers don't get broken, rabbit.

Man and you missed the note on the easy part. You can't give up now!

Does that cross over really help you on the fast part with the pedal tone? I've never seen anyone do that before. That's could fix my problem too because I can't move my left pinky fast enough to get through more than the first 8-10 notes of each of those sections before I lose my combo.

BTW, my wife is taking an evening job in two weeks so I might be playing a lot more GH3 starting the 18th

My left hand is retarded, and I don't mean in the mental sense, it's just slower than my right hand. As a piano player my whole life my right hand fingers are just quicker (and is *just* quick enough to lift up on that pinky for those darn orange notes). The downside is hitting that little "back" button for the star power, followed with strumming that yellow note with my left hand, it's pretty awkward.

As for now, I've given up on FC Cliffs of Dover simply because my mistakes are so random (like in the video) that it's really frustrating. Plus I'm still messing up like 80% of the time in the solo B. For now it's on to Cult of Personality since there's like 60K between me and #1 (vs. 5K in CoD).

Thanks all for the compliments, I hope the clips are entertaining. I always thought the youtube clips of just the videos shown left a little something to be desired.

Nice to see you tearing it up rabbit. I havent been playing much at all, and have spent maybe 25 hours total with this game. I'd say I was at 200+ around this time last year with GHII. I actually like the new setup a lot better now that I'm used to it, but it's just not as fun anymore. I can't see myself trying over and over and over to get FC's. I'm happy when I get them though. I think if I took a few days to learn all of the songs star paths and practiced another 25 hours, I could easily move into the top 1000 or so, but after that I'd be pretty much maxed and repeating the same song over and over and over missing 5-10 different notes on half the songs. I just can't find the patience to do that anymore.

Well, I did something I never thought I would accomplish...I 5-starred Raining Blood on Medium last night. The strange part is that I did it with little trouble.

I recently have been working on Rock Band on the Hard difficulty and hadn't played GHIII in a week or two. Picked it up last night and just breezed thru the remaing songs on Medium I needed to 5 star and it took me just 3 tries to 5 star Raining Blood. I was astonished. Something just felt like it clicked and the notes seemed to move slower than usual. Weird.

So I jump on Hard on GHIII and finished the 1st tier which is saying something for me. I couldn't get thru Talk Dirty To Me last time to save my life and this time I finished it and felt I did a decent job for my first time on Hard on GHIII.

I didn't take my good fortune to Thru the Fire and the Flames though. I wanted to keep feeling good about myself for the moment.

I've 5 starred everything on the Medium set list now and pretty much stuck on the 7th tier of Hard.

I think i've plateaued.

Go back to the first few tiers of hard and try to five star those, if you can't, just keep going on with whatever songs you find fun. You will eventually blow through hard, just keep at it.

That's where I'm at. Been stuck there for quite a few weeks. Somehow on Sat. I managed to get through Stricken, 3's & 7's and Cydonia. I had gone through about 10 songs on expert, then went back to those four and somehow managed to get through them.

That's what I did. Only I didn't know I was playing lefty, the first time I played guitar hero I just wondered why all the notes were backwards. Turns out, I was playing lefty. My right hand is just far more dexteritous than my left, so I almost have to use it for the frets.

I've tried playing lefty to get the achievement, but it feels backward to me.

No more GH3 for me for awhile. Just got the E-74 bottom right red light error. I've tried everything to no avail. It also looks like I will have to pay for the repair, since my 360 isn't RROD, and is one year and exactly one month old. If I have to pay I'm getting rid of my 360 and getting a PS3. I just bought 6 games, all the Rock Band songs, 4000 points, and just got a new year of live. ALL THIS WEEK! And I get this shit.

Double check your warranty online before you give up.

And try wrapping it in a towel and making the RROD come that way.
