Has anything been mentioned about the next Guitar Heros due out this year? I already unlocked all the songs in GH2, almost finished with GH3, and im sure ill be done with Rock Band in no time as well. Im hoping we'll get a lot more versions of GH out this year, i am not a fan of downloadable content, i prefer to spend my $$$ on a physical disc i can resell when im finished with.

It's pretty much winded down for me too, since I met my career goal of 13MM for the game. All I have left to do for song goals is FC Cult of Personality, Cliffs of Dover and Raining Blood (up to the flood).

I think there's plans of releasing them annually, but nothing confirmed other than they're working on the next one.

Banner weekend for me. I call it the "Raining Blood" Weekend. 5* RB on medium and beat it finally on Hard. Medium made me angry, as I had perfect until the ending which is a mess of noise and has no rhythmic timing whatsoever.

Expert is still killing me. I can't move past the first tier yet. But I'm running out of "excuses" not to keep progressing, although I'd really like to 4* everything on hard before doing it.

I wish they'd port over the 80s volume to the Xbox 360. With all the interest in GH and RB lately people would snatch that thing up.

I believe 80's is 100% covers, and not particularly good ones either.

Covers or not, I'd pick up Rocks the 80s for 360 in a second. I don't mind covers whatsoever.

There are some master tracks, but not many. I agree that a lot of the covers in that game are shit.

A big thanks to rabbit77 for helping me get some achievements tonight.

By the way, does anyone know if you have to be the host to get some online co-op achievements or should it matter? There were times when I would get an achievement and other times that I wouldn't. Strange.

"Paranoid" is one of the funnest songs to play on hard and expert - just thought I had to throw that out there!

On the topic of covers, when I first bought GH2 I thought all the songs were real songs. I was pretty disappointed to find out that so many songs are cover songs. Rock Band has all real songs right?

the older songs tend to be covers.

On an unrelated note, I'm really close to FC'ing Cliffs of Dover. I should have a video up soon if the stars line up right..

I knew that when I typed it, but I was too tired to figure out to say what I wanted in a gramatically correct sentence.

How's this -

"Paranoid, in my opinion, is one of the most fun songs to play on GHII."

or

Paranoid f'ing rocks on GHIII - I never get tired of it!

The only songs that has really bothered me as not being the orignal singer is "Pride and Joy" I think most others are decent impersonations.

Pride and Joy is definitely the worst cover in the game. Devil Went Down to Georgia not far behind.

"Sunshine of Your Love" as made famous by Cream has to be the worst cover. Man, I hate that cover, he sounds like a crooner... Pride and joy is certainly close, but IMO, Sunshine is much much worse.

I think LaGrange is the worst cover in the game, then Pride & Joy.

It's extremely amusing to me that what you guys keep slamming on the covers is the VOCALS, when this is a GUITAR based game. You want to talk about the worst GUITAR cover, it's pride and joy. The others are very good, Sunshine and La Grange especially.

Well, the game is supposed to be your a guitarist in a band, and part of that band is the VOcals... I would be ashamed to be in a band with as bad of vocals as there is in Sunshine and Pride and Joy

It might be a guitar game, but the vocals are far more noticeable than guitars when covered poorly.

Hey Chicagoans (not sure if there are any around that read this thread) there's a tournament tomorrow night at Bar Chicago on State & Division:

It's my son's second birthday tomorrow so I won't be there but I would have been all over this any other day.

Not to me they aren't.
