GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread II
#426
DVD Talk Godfather
I finally got Guitar Hero 3! This is the first time i've played one of the Guitar Hero games and so far played most of it on Easy and starting on Medium now. I don't know how i'll be able to play on Hard with that other button. Still having fun though. I'm loving the music as it includes a lot of my favorite bands, so getting to play AFI and Rise Against is great.
Going to start reading through this thread now for tips and things.

I think I've decided to pick up a 360 for a myriad of reasons, but one is to play Guitar Hero 2. I think the answer is YES, but you can use the GH2 controller for 360 with the 360 version of GH THREE (as well as Rockband), yes?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just can't get past Expert. Heck, I can't complete Hard because of Raining Blood. These chord combos are just ridiculous.

I've restarted several times and left it alone for a couple of hours without success. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Just got GH3 for my wii and Im loving it! Though Im nowhere near close to being good, Id like to pick up the other GH games. Do you think there is any chance they will release GH, GH2, and the 80's one either seperatly or on a compilation disc for the wii?

I just noticed they added a new section (Rocker Review) on the website but it seems rather borked. I've got N/A for most of them and I have no idea where its pulling the scores from. Everything else seems to update fine.
Also, am I the only one in the whole tour group that plays on PS3?

The 360 leaderboards are broken too... I broke 3 personal bests today and on the leaderboards I'm getting "no score" on them. I'm going to be pissed if they don't get updated.

I don't think this has been posted yet:
Here's the number to be used to start the process of exchanging your Wii disc for the corrected version:
(866) 780-8286
I called and basically just had to give my name and address, then they asked if I had a Dolby Surround setup and that was about it. Supposedly they'll be mailing out information on how to send in your disc, but I wasn't entirely clear on whether or not the replacement discs were actually ready now or if there would be a delay.

well, I think I have hit the wall on Medium. I finished every song on Medium but cannot seem to pass Through The Fire And Flames. I have gotten as high as 97% but still fail right at the end (usually at 95%). It's so goddamn frustrating...and what makes it worse is the song sucks. It's one thing to have to play a song over and over again that you like but jeez this song is lame.
I figure I will luck up eventually and pass it but I have tried it at least 6 to 8 times and keep failing it. Ugh. Guess that will be one song I can forget when I move to the Hard difficulty. Any tips?

You don't have to finish Through the Fire and Flames on medium. Are you talking about during the credits sequence? The song shows up in the bonus section after you finish medium.

Oh good, I'm glad you got an answer on that, even if it's not a good one. I tried asking when the discs would be ready but the person I was talking to didn't seem to understand the question. And yeah, I'm not going to mail mine in until closer to the date the replacements will be available. A two month wait without the game would be absurd.
