My wife just booted up the 360 and said "it won't connect to Live". So it's affecting us as well. Too bad they don't have a "current network status" on Xbox Live .com
Then again, I can't get to live.com, so maybe it's more widespread.
ah, just connected (to the website), just slow.

It's O.K. for me , but this is what the Xbox Live status page says:

Status:
Users may be unable to log into Xbox Live. Our engineers are currently investigating and are working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Tried to turn it on this morning, and it went straight to the red lights. It didn't even freeze prior to its death. I guess it died peacefully in its sleep. I tried to register the repair online, but it I kept getting an error when I entered my serial number. Wound up calling 18004MYXBOX and my coffin should be arriving next week.
That's exactly what my launch 360 did about a month or so ago. Honestly I preferred it went that way. It would have bugged the heck out of me had it started acting up over time.

Yeah, it seems to be system wide. I just noticed only 2 friends online right now (monitored thru Xbox.com). Kind of odd for a Saturday night.

Man, I was looking forward to the COD4 all-nighter tonight. Guess I might finally catch up on some movies now.

I hope I get my back that soon, but I doubt it. My main gripe is that I have family coming over next week, and my cousins have been dying to try out Rock Band.

Can anyone point me to a site or advice on a wireless adapter to connect to my router at home (besides the official one). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just hit 30,000 in gamerscore after winning the HOF award with my wife in Rock Band.

I'm quickly closing in on 10,000. I've gained about 1,250 in the week I've been home on vacation with nothing better to do. I'll have another 300 or so when I finish COD4 this week, then it's on to Mass Effect.

I've actually been stuck on 29,000+ for a couple of months now - I definitely had at least 28,000 when we were playing Halo 3 so much.

I'm nearing 28k. I think it will be a while before I hit 30k. I still play the shit out of GHIII and am planning on getting caught up on my Wii games (Mario, Metroid, Zack & Wiki, RE4).

Uh oh, this isn't good; every game I put into my 360 reads as a DVD. When I hit play, I get a message about how I need to put this disc into a Xbox 360.... Um, yeah, you're doing it wrong. I am going to see if a lense cleaner would work. Any other advice?

I finally beat RAAM (GOW) on insane difficulty. Took me about 45 minutes of rinse and repeat. The only way I finally beat him was due to a glitch. About every third or fourth try he would freeze for a good 30 seconds before moving again.

I'm getting close to 5K.

I wish I could play COD4. Every time I load it, within ten minutes of a mission, I wanna hurl everywhere. Damn motion sickness.

I've got way to many games as of late.

Mass Effect (finished)
Rock Band (Casual play now)
Assassin's Creed (next to last level, bored to tears)
Call of Duty 4 (Motion Sickness, can't play it)
Tempest (Control is wack)
Sonic 2 (Love this game)

Just ordered.
Crackdown (Never tried it, not a fan of sandbox games, but I like the angle and it was Amazon's Deal of the Day)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition (Huge Comic fan, so looking forward to playing this one over and over)

So I popped in Rainbow Six Vegas just to mess around and when I joined a game to observe I noticed that some of the movie/billboard posters in the Casino are current. I saw recent ads in game for both the game "Assassin's Creed" and that new film thriller "One Missed Call". I remember when RSV came out the single player had a truck with the "Alpha Dog" ad on its side.

It's actually kinda cool because you don't notice them unless you look at them so they don't come across as blatant pimping...even if they are.

That happens to me rarely, usually i have to reboot the system and it fixes itself.

Yeah I noticed that the Guitar Hero III ads had updated to show billboards for The Sarah Connor Chronicles the other day.

I really don't mind ads like these, or the billboards in Burnout Paradise.

Speaking of Burnout Paradise, I've spent some more time in the demo and am starting to enjoy it a little more. The online portion is a blast.
