I don't believe so. Because there is one setting for the 360 display options at one time. What would be the purpose anyway?

Asking on behalf of a friend. I am not entirely sure TBH.

I'm surprised everyone is so down on the Burnout demo, it sounds like everyone wanted more of the same. I think there would have been a lot of complaints if they had released another traditional Burnout with high res graphics and a few extra modes. I like that they took the series in a different direction, by making it more open, but keeping the same core Burnout gameplay. The demo is somewhat limited, but I think the potential is there once they open up the entire city. I had a blast just driving around and exploring the city and the different jumps/shortcuts.

I didn't like that there wasn't a restart button for races, but that may not be such a big deal when every intersection has an open race.

I was listening to the CrashFM Criterion podcast, it sounds like traffic checking will be back, but it depends on the type of car now. The car you have in the demo is a stunt car.

I am all for going another route with a Burnout game but this demo just feels broken. The set-up is just horrible. Maybe that will chage with the coming release but I doubt it since it is so close to its release date. I wouldn't have liked this demo even if it didn't have Burnout name on it.

It just makes it all the more disappointing that it does have the Burnout name after so many previous quality releases.

I didn't like the Burnout demo either.

The problem with the Burnout demo isn't that it seems like a bad game, it's just not the Burnout we know and love. If it was a brand new property, there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints.

If it wasn't a Burnout game, I'd probably say "Wow, this game is pretty bad"

I don't. I can't speak for everyone, but I think Burnout is one franchise that transends that MOTS (more of the same) cliche. Personally, all I want is prettier graphics, faster cars, new tracks and explosive carnage.

One series where I would be more than satisfied with MOTS. They built a franchise that works extremely well. There was no need to turn it on its head. It would be a different matter if Criterion/EA churned it out yearly, but as of now it isn't an annual series so the total change up wasn't needed.

CoD4. Halo III and Team Fortress 2 (Orange Box) as well. I love Rock Band online, drum offs are a blast.

Bomberman Live and Assault Heroes are two fun Xbox Live Arcade games online.

I just received my 360 Arcade bundle from Amazon. It definitely looks like the older hardware (203W listed on box). I looked at the Arcade bundles at Best Buy and TRU and all were 203W, so it looks like Microsoft still has quite a bit of inventory to clear out.

I am sure this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread. Can someone recommend some 360 games for kids? Someone I know is getting one for Christmas, and he has kids that would like some games as well. I recommended Cars, since my nephew loves it, but what else? Is Viva Pinata good for kids?

I have Orange Box on PC so I won't be buying it again. Of the games mentioned, I only own COD 4 so I guess I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestions.

Alan Wake is being developed by Remedy (Max Payne) and published by Microsoft. It's currently due to be released at some point in 2008.

Alone in the Dark is being developed by Eden Games (Need for Speed) and was/is going to be published by Atari in early 2008. I know Atari's been having financial problems, but for the time being they are still around and still publishing games (for example, they published a Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack and Witcher in recent months).

ChrisHicks -- I'm not familiar with a game called simply "Rain." I know there were trailers at E3 for Heavy Rain (PS3 exclusive, due some time in 2008) and Vampire Rain (released summer 2007 to very bad reviews). Did you mean either of those?

Just played some of the Burnout Demo and was pretty fun. A long time since I played an arcade racer like this. Of course I did get booted from the two quick games that I joined. Wasn't really sure why, is there any special etiquette to follow? I was crashing a fair bit but I thought that was part of the game.

nope, it's actually just called "Rain". at the end of the trailer it shows the following 2 names if it helps:

AQ Interactive and Artoon

its a kind of demon shooter game.

by the way, this was back for E3 06.

Just gave the Burnout demo another chance. God this game sucks. I guess the love affair is over. I've been with you since the beginning owning all but Dominator, but I don't even think Paradise is bargain bin fodder. I hope this game is the biggest flop of the year.

I just want to race, do stunts and wreck. Is that too much to ask? I don't want to have to waste time searching for said things and not having a set course. Burnout + Open world = FAIL.

Also just got my Live is 5 points. I wasn't even sure I qualified. FYI, they expire so plan on using them. I just bought that GHIII pack yesterday for 500. That would have been perfect.

*edit - they don't expire until the end of June.
