Darn I screwed out of the Mario Pre-order coin the gamestop employ claimed they were all out of them. What is the point of pre-ordering if there not going to give you what they advertise.

I was happily assigned to this game and am playing through it so that I can post a review by the weekend.

There are times when we do get review copies, but there are other times when we need to buy (or rent) our own copies in order to cover it in a timely fashion.

And we rarely, if ever, get two or more copies of the same title.

I was expecting the final galaxy in the first observatory to be a 3-level galaxy, but to my surprise it was only 1... and while it wasn't that hard it was pretty cool! I started the Fountian observatory and got through the rolling green on the 1st try - then had to get back to work... hmmm, is it break time again? ;) I love working at home.

I just got the second star. Wow, this game is better then I envisioned it. The graphics, the controls, the music. Everything just works so perfectly together.

I still have to finish up my remaining 2 reviews. Good thing I have half a day off tomorrow and friday off.

And so far, I'd give the game a 9 just based on the little I've played. I haven't been this impressed by a mario title in a while. I didn't care all that much for Sunshine. As much fun as Paper Mario Wii was, it wasn't as fun as this Mario is so far.

I've had this happen a few times with Gamestop. I think the employees help themselves to many of the preorder goodies.

So far the game is excellent. It just sucks because I'm now fully into this game, Fire Emblem and Lego Star Wars. Gaming overload right now.

I started playing Mario Galaxy last night and I beat the first galaxy before I decided to give it a break. What I played, I loved - it's an unbelievably good game. I figured I'd play some Conan for a bit because it's one of the two rental games I need to finish/get back to Blockbuster. Of course, it sucks compared to Galaxy.

I don't know about that. What's really the allure to having the coin?

There's probably a certain amount of pre-orders that are taken that are then sent to somewhere that need to be guaranteed, they get a good amount of overflow for these games after that fact and they can continue to sell pre-orders until the day before release, and then they'll have some for the shelf.

I pre-ordered my copy of Galaxy just one day before it came out and got the edition with the coin, so, I dunno.

I picked this up for the gift card deal but haven't opened it. Should I? Is it really that great? I have Assassin's Creed, CoD 4, Umbrella Chronicles, and Smackdown vs Raw 2008 that I just got, so I am not sure I'll have time :lol:

Mario Galaxy is pretty much better than every other game you got. I would have said combined, but Assassin's Creed is pretty awesome. But it's better than all the others combined. :D

This is one of those games where you plan on only playing for 15 minutes, and you look at the clock and it's 2 hours later. This just happened to me for about the fourth time today.

Hell, everytime I try to lay down and sleep, I get the itch to turn the Wii back on and I can't resist. One more star turns into five, and before you know it, it's 2 a.m. and you're wide awake. At least I don't have to worry about work in the morning. :D

Got mine from TRU today, no coin, but I got the gift card which is all I cared about.

Played a couple hours and I'm about 12 stars in. Great game so far. It constantly throws something new at you, and I've had quite a few wow moments already.

Didn't have the trouble with the first "Surfing 101" level some people are experiencing. My biggest problem is my finger likes to accidentally hit the z button in mid air over empty space.

You see, they know how to *take* the reservation, they just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.

I couldn't play last night. I had class until 9PM and knew that if I turned the game on when I got home I'd be up way too late. Now I have another 8.5 hours to wait until I can play. :sad:

I cannot get enough of this game. I always try to get one extra star before work. I have been late two days in a row now. I also went home for lunch the past 2 days to play, and took longer lunches. This game is going to get me fired.

Excellent game so far! Just beat the 2nd boss. :-)

That's such a classic Seinfeld moment when they're trying to get the rental car at the airport. It made me chuckle just thinking about it.

I wasn't sold on this early on. I thought the levels were too short. But, now that I've been playing and opening up new galaxies the variety makes up for how short the levels are.

I played through 1 star last night - and my concerns that I had were coming true... a bunch of tiny planets that you fly between :( I know it'll get better though.

The music fucking rocks however.
