Long Jump = While running, hit "Z", then "A" and Mario will Long Jump.

There's another jump where you pull the direction stick the opposite way while running and hit "Z" and he'll do some funky somersault or something like that...

You know, I just finished the "Sweets Galaxy" after I don't know how many the hell tries and let me just say that parts of this game are pure fuckin' S & M type torture without the happy ending!!! :grunt:

Just finished the game as well. Great game and easily the best 3d platformer I've played (to note, I've never been fond of the genre, they all get really repetitive really fast. SMG being setup more akin to SMB3 fixed that for me.)

I'm at 85 stars on the Luigi side of the game. I definitely want to get all 120, but I have been getting sidetracked. Has anyone actually accomplished this?

I'm at about 60, but got sidetracked as well...maybe I'll play for a bit tonight.

I just beat the game with 104 stars and am now on the purple comet thing to get 120 stars. Man I can't wait to get all of them.

So far its pretty fun playing with him. I was dying to get to the haunted house to see if I would be rescuing Luigi playing as Luigi. :lol:

I can't beat the prankster comet where I have to race myself in the Bee Galaxy, though. The computer doesnt give much leeway there.

I found that if you head over to the area where space is fenced off by the water fountain (closer to the upper level you have to Bee fly over to, not the central section where the rocks come out with the green pipe above), you can jump over the side, kinda guide yourself to the left a little bit, and as you plummet, you'll see the "honey-fied" runway area. A quick spin in midair will adjust you onto the walkway, and you'll have a huge lead over your Cosmic double.

You can get a "boost" at the start of any Cosmic Mario/Luigi race. Hold "forward" on the nunchuck, when the countdown hits "2" hold down Z button, then press A button when it says "GO!". If you did it correctly you will turn yellow and speed boost!

Another tip is to use the long jump whenever you can. Good luck! :D

I finally reached the Luigi's Purple Coins level this week, and have only one thing to say: The Horror... The Horror!! -eek- -eek-

I have lost almost a 100 lives here and the most coins I've been able to collect is around 60. But I'm not giving up - I can feel myself getting slightly better with each try. Hopefully by the end of the year I can finish this level.

I was going to try and explain my technique for beating that level, but then I realized it would be unintelligible without a picture. I will just say go around the outside right area, then the mushroom area, then clear out the middle, then head back towards where you started. You should easily get 100. Remember there are more than 100 coins on that level, you don't have to collect all of them.

just keep your speed consistent and don't panic if you get behind. If you avoid the honey at the end, you can easily pass him.

the purple coins level in the Dreadnought galaxy just wiped the floor with me playing with Luigi. Bet I attempted that 30 times before getting them all. That Luigi is a slippery bastard.

No matter what your skill level, this game will challenge you...part of what makes it so great.

I really enjoyed the Freezeflame Galaxy. Actually, I've enjoyed all the galaxies in the bedroom- I was struggling to muster up the desire to beat enough galaxies in the kitchen, because I didn't like it very much.

EDGE magazine (jan'08) has named Super Mario Galaxy their 2007 'Game of the Year'! :D
