i'm loving the game so far...though i also think the cutscenes should have been better. i was all fired up when i started watching the initial movie but had to laugh at the song selection. overall though, i'm very happy with the game

just got done moving so will hopefully have the ps3 back online tonight for some online play

anayone else been burned by the inability to copy save files? This basically means playing with 1/3 of the roster if you bring it over a friends house :/ or burning hours of your life away unlocking everyone if you own more than 1 ps3

The alternate costumes that you can purchase; are they really on disc and you're just paying to unlock them for use? What a load of crap!

It's crap either way (though I would assume it is on the disc, otherwise if you're playing someone with a new costume you don't have, how would you see it?). Even if it wasn't on the disc, who's to say that there was absolutely no room to include it on the disc? When paid DLC is available the day the game comes out, that's crap to me. I blame Namco...

I'm still conflicted about them not providing new characters through DLC. On one hand, at least everyone has the same game and characters, but on the other hand, this just paves the way for endless full price revisions of the game with new characters.

Yes!!!! Finally found a PS3 collector's edition at Blockbuster of all places. It was a preorder cancel and I picked it up within ten minutes of calling them.

Yeah, I was hoping not to buy five million different revisions this time around... I guess it's been so long, i forget how Capcom usually works.

For anyone still waiting on a CE from DD, I'd suggest going out and trying to pick it up at a B&M if you can find it (especially the PS3 version). May be too late at this point, but better safe than sorry.

The game is good, but I know I suck when I can't even do the combos in the challenge mode, when they tell me exactly what to do...

Yeah, i realize that we're going to be subjected to about three more incarnations of sfiv, but there's always hope that it will be available through download for cheaper. Who knows.

You're not alone with the combo thing in the challenge mode. There are just some that I cannot do no matter how hard or how many times I try. The sad part is that i like to think i'm at least halfway decent with the game. My longest winning streak online is 19 wins, i got the ranked win streak my first night with the game, and i do well against the CPU in the arcade mode.

Not against Seth though, he's another issue that I hope capcom will lobotomize him a little at some point. He's so hard it's just retarded and he sucks the fun out of the fight.

Hmm, I could swear I read something about how they would make characters available through DLC. Maybe I'm reversing that.

Deep Discount is starting to ship their orders. My PS3 CE shipped from DD yesterday. I ordered on Dec. 10.

I got my 360 CE from Amazon yesterday and played it a bit last night. Really digging this game and Crimson Viper is a pretty cool character. I kind of want to get one of the Fightpads for it.

I've gone through the game now with Ken, Ryu, and Chun-Li. I don't think the anime sequences are that bad. Certainly better then previous "stories" in the Street Fighter series.

Meanwhile, Chun-Li doesn't say "yatta" anymore She says it in english

So for those who bought the CE, is it worth it?
Anyone watched the movie yet, is it any good? The Crimson Viper figure does look really cool.

I swear, all I'm trying to do is open up some more playable characters, and it was easy enough playing through with characters I'm familiar with, like Ken/Ryu. But going through it with characters I'm not familiar with (nor do I want to be familiar with) is ridiculously impossible.

There is no fucking way that I should be perfected by the game's (cheap) AI on it's easiest setting, not even the easy setting, but EASIEST - WTF! That is bullshit of the highest order.

I'm not even talking about Seth, but a couple fighters before - at that point, the game is already no longer fun and then Seth makes things even worse. Oh, and I tried the different difficulty settings - I hardly noticed a difference between them. They better patch this shit up and make the difficulty settings actually reflect what they're called.

I haven't watched the movie yet, but the figure is REALLY small. It's like 2 inches tall. I thought it would be more... action figure sized. So it's pretty crummy. The soundtrack is kind of neat though. I'll try and watch the movie this weekend.


I went through the game with Chun Li on the 2nd to easiest setting, and didn't have much difficulty. And i'm one of those people that really only use Ryu/Ken. I didn't think it was that bad, and the easy settings were noticeably easier to me then Medium.

Damn dude, that's rough. I find Medium is just the right difficulty for me up until I fight Seth. Then he goes ape-shit on me and i want to throw the controller through the window.

Easiest is what I used to unlock akuma and gouken, just because of what's involved with getting their characters. Occasionally the AI will bust out some moves even on that setting, but I've found that just about every character right up to Seth just stands there and takes it. Drop the fight count down to one round and time limit to 30 seconds and you might stand a better chance. Do some damage and just stay away until time runs out.

Once I unlock Seth I don't think i'll be going back to the arcade mode. It's just not fun. Then again, it really is the best way to guarantee that you'll find someone else to fight against on Xbox Live. Quick and Custom searches just don't work.

That sucks about the figure. It must be like the Assassin's Creed one, very small and underwhelming.

How much better is the fight pad or stick compared to the standard controller? I've got the PS3 version. I'm not willing to pay the inflated prices, just wondering in case they become available again.

I've been using my Street Fighter Anniversary stick from like 5 years ago. Works great with a ps2 to usb adapter. Don't htink it's the best quality but i love the look.

Looks like I'll finally get ti play SF4 in the arcade this week. Too bad it has to happen after I got the console ver :/

I rented this game from Gamefly and got it on Friday. I didn't really expect to like it too much, just because I'm not really into fighters any more. However, after playing a few rounds I really liked it... until I got to Seth. Why is it so many of these games have to have an end boss that is such bullshit. Even on the easiest settings, almost every fight until him is complete cake, then he continues to slaughter me over and over.

I may not be very good at the game, but when you are playing on the "Easiest" setting, the game shouldn't still be insanely hard. The biggest problem is how uneven the difficulty is once you get to Seth. Oh well, I thought I would at least play this until the weekend was over, but I'm not even going to bother any further, it just isn't worth the frustration.
