Interesting. I love Rez. Hated the demo but took a gamble on the full game anyway and ended up loving it.

I still haven't finished Level 5.

Is there a big difference between the full game and the demo?

Kind of. Rez is more of an experience than a "game," for the most part. One of the goals you can go for in getting 100% shot down and items in each level (and facing the more involved versions of the bosses). However, once you beat the main the game and unlock Score Attack, it definitely becomes a lot more of a game than the main game is with the whole multipliers bit. The final level of Rez is probably one of the most amazing levels ever created in a video game. I think it's insanely awesome, but you really have to be into the whole synesthesia thing to really enjoy it.

I should take back what I said. I didn't "hate" the demo. I just didn't "get it." For everything else, see what Pixy said.

Hmm, I imagine i'm just not getting it, since it just seemed like all I was doing was shooting targets and making some cool beats. A lot of what Pixy said totally went over my head To Wikipedia I go for another read!

Ikaruga is more your standard shooter, it's short but challenging - it looks nice, and is a lot of fun to play (imo). The Black/White Charging/Chaining is where most of the appeal comes from, and what sets the game apart.

(Video of Hard mode of level 3, spoilered for space)

Rez was always a "game as art" type game, I never really got into it but have been meaning to grab the full game to give it a full chance.

I really like Rez a lot but seems like I'm not likely to see the 5th level anytime soon. It's not like I've had a ton of attempts, but so far the 3rd level boss has been kicking my ass. Well, regardless, it's been fun so far.

Several weeks back, there was talk of a Rocky & Bullwinkle game coming out for XBLA--I guess it was actually just this pinball table?

Apparently, it's a bunch of crappy mini-games. Got a 3.5 from OXM. They had a slew of upcoming XBLA games reviewed. I'll post some later, when I have the issue in front of me. Ikaruga got an 8.5.

Love that new Rocky & Bullwinkle table. It's worth twice it's 200 point cost. I love the witty touches, especially Dudley Doright saving Penelope from the speeding pinball. It's a bright, colorful and fun table. So much better than the Haunted House one that (except for the Elfmanesque music), I found rather disappointing. What I like about the pinball game is that for just 400 points, you've now doubled the content of the original 800 point game and all three downloadable tables are way better than that awful Extreme one that comes with the game.

According to Joystiq in honor of the fourth season of Battlestar Galactica the XBLA game will be on sale for 400pts all day Saturday.

Anyone play it? I didn't even know there was one.

I played the demo when it first came out and didn't find it to be anything exciting, but maybe it was the 800pts that turned me off on it. For 400pts, I'll download just about anything.

The demo for Battlestar basically made me decide I wouldn't download it for free.

Haha naw, when the game was in alpha, Minter distributed profanity laced screenshots of the game, as you can see, they still exist As far as I know, none of it is in the actual game.

Space Giraffe is awesome. Too bad it is kinda messy and requires serious practice to do well.

Any opinions on Mr Driller (pixy perhaps?)? It got some good reviews, but was killed by IGN as being basically broken online. I would think that is fixable with a patch, but until then I'll certainly not make a purchase of it. I've never played a Mr Driller game before. It looks like an okay puzzle game, but it didn't knock me out with the first impression.

Pinball FX is such a great game, loving the new table!

Plus I finally got Marble Blast Ultra...this game is seriously addicting!!
Wish I had bought it sooner even at the higher price, but IMO the demo
was so ridiculously short it put me off buying it the first time around.

Poker Smash is fun as hell too, even though I suck terribly at it.

You may or may not like Mr. Driller but that IGN review is a joke.
Where do they get these clown 'reviewers' ?
