I loved Heavy Barrel.

I would also love to play this other top down/rotating joystick game. I think it was called Time Warriors and it had you going through time collecting these characters who all had a primary attack and a secondary fire attack. I remember using some archer person and a girl who slung boomerangs. I also remember fighting Roman centurions and such. It was a fun arcade game back in the day.

What blows my mind about that is the realization that Doom was ever anything more than 400pts. That was really 800 points? I thought retro stuff was always supposed to be 400.

Don't forget TotemBall. Unless that's disqualified as a game LOL.

OK fair enough, but let's just say Bliss Island is BY FAR the worst XBLA game that MS has the audacity to actually charge money (or points) for.

I wonder if I can get 400 points back from Assault Heroes... Anyway, I really like that game and would recommend it to anyone at that price. Sequel is in the wings as well. I suppose we should expect a drop in Feeding Frenzy to 400 points pretty soon as well as that sequel is close.

I haven't tried Bliss Island but you are making me curious to check it out to see how bad it really is heheh.

Go ahead and give it a try. Since the last dashboard update it will no longer show up as a "played game", thank God. It is so broken, it's a wonder that it ever made it to marketplace. It's seriously much worse than Yaris, which to me is just a terrible game. Piss Island is damn near unplayable (at least as a demo; ain't no way I'll drop 400 points on the slim, slim chance it gets better).

Now that Doom is going to be 400 points on Wednesday, I'm finally going to buy it.

I've been looking forward to some old school Doom, but never wanted to pay 800 for it.

That sounds a lot like Gain Ground (which is available on the Sega Genesis Collection), except for the rotating joystick part...

I wish games for XBLA would be planned out so we new what was coming weeks ahead. I guess if we knew when a game we wanted was coming, we might not buy the game for sell that week, but still.....

Eh, Doom is "retro" like Street Fighter 2 is. Not really the same as something like Frogger or Dig Dug.

I have the arcade game of Time Soldiers, the only reason I bought it was that the seller also had a board for Heavy Barrel (which was one of my favorite arcade games).

When you have an infinite amount of quarters (or own your own machine), Heavy Barrel isn't as fun. I never played Time Warriors before, but find it incredibly difficult and frustrating. I haven't played more than 10 minutes worth of it since owning it, and now it's unplugged in an unused part of my gameroom next to my broken Return of the Jedi.

they have that many colors to choose from?

Also - the So far implies more than 22 unlockables - which is a number that the dev blog mentions. So I'd be surprised if there were more than that.

Does this mean there are 22 enemies to fight?

I cannot wait for that game!

Alien Hominid would be an obvious hidden character.

ENCOUNTERED AN ASSAILANT
IKARUGA ACHIEVEMENTS
BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS

(Oops, wrong game.)

http://inside.mygamercard.net/2008/0...-achievements/

Such weakling achievements for such a "legendarily" tough game.

If Assault heroes 1 ever got the live multiplayer working i would have been all over the sequal. but the developers left it high and dry. very dissappointing

So you'll have no problem with last two then?
