Looks like we might be getting Rez HD next week.
I should've sold my PS2 disc while I could've gotten good money for it...

Yup, we're getting Rez. That one is a near-certain purchase for me
800 points is a bargain for Rez, but awful steep for Chess, especially since there's already Chess in the Spyglass collection that's only 400 points. Anyway, can't wait to try that Rez demo in a couple of days.
A brand new recreation of the cult-classic shooter created by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, “Rez HD” launches on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for Xbox 360™ this week. In addition to “Rez HD,” chess fans and newcomers alike will enjoy checkmating friends with “Chessmaster Live” on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Both games will be available on Wednesday, 30th January at 9:00 a.m.
“Rez HD” is a frenetic, wire-frame adventure set to industrial beats and rhythms that match the action. The story of “Rez HD” takes players deep into the world’s computer network where they must hack the system, alter the visual output and take over the music, creating unique rhythms and eye candy as they dig deeper into the cyberworld.
Developed by Q Entertainment (“Lumines Live!” and “Every Extend Extra Extreme”), “Rez HD” for Xbox LIVE Arcade is a high definition update of the original game with brand new elements such as new visuals and sound effects. The game features five levels, each with its own unique visual theme, style and musical track, as well as three modes, including Easy, Main and Score Attack. “

A downloadable version of Ubisoft’s hit “Chessmaster” series, “Chessmaster Live” allows players to test and tune their chess skills against the AI or opponents of all aptitudes around the globe via Xbox LIVE. “Chessmaster Live” features five original chess variants, including a Message Chess option, which allows gamers to engage in matches over the span of several days, weeks or even months. The title boasts both beautifully crafted 3D chess sets inspired by luxury chess board designer House of Staunton.
Where can I get “Rez HD” and “Chessmaster LIVE” from?

Is that the puzzle game or just a run-of-the-mill poker game? The puzzle game sounds like a blast.

It got a 9.0 in the current OXM (compared to an 8.0 for Rez). It does look like it could be fun. I'll certainly check out the demo.
And when oh when will we get some more XBLA Hits? I want me some cheap games.

I wouldn't expect XBLA Hits for a while. I'm betting it will be a twice a year offer.

So after playing Rez again this morning I remembered how stupid it actually was. The game doesn't make any sense and is impossibly hard. I made it to the "boss" on level 1 without missing a single enemy, bored out of my mind, then "died" somehow on the boss. I was unloading on him and I got hit my some missile things that I could not even lock onto so I instantly died. Game Over. Now I have to re-play the 10 parts before the boss again, only to most likely randomly die for no reason again. WOOO HOO love this game

Hmm somewhat similarly I defeated the boss but I also couldn't really understand what was going on. There were parts of him that seemed to detach which looked dangerous but didn't seem to hurt me. Also I thought I did get hit once but I wasn't sure by what. It all seems a little abstract. I'm going to go back and play it again.

I kind of get a "is this all there is?" feeling from Rez as well. Yes it's cool, but I already have Everyday Shooter for my trippy musical shooter game. I dunno, I like Rez somewht, but I don't really feel the need to pull the trigger. I think I'd rather go back and buy the full PoP or Switchball instead. I'll try it some more and see if my feelings change for it. I think I'll wait until next week for Poker Smash as well since that's supposed to be pretty fun. Damn I wish I had more points or even better, could find some cheap points cards.
Tried Chessmaster. It's......chess. Nice presentation and pretty 3D chessboard. Still 800 points is pretty steep for a downloadable chess game.

I wonder how long before we get a downloadable version of Amplitude. Seems to only make sense with the success of rhythm based games.
I played the Rez demo, and liked it, but it didn't seem to have any challenge.

I got all but the 10,000 kills achievement on Undertow. I have about 1850. 10,000 sounds brutal. Apparently only 75 people according to 360voice have 200/200. I'm tempted, but I think it'll be a "thousand a day" thing. I couldn't get 8k in one sitting without vomiting.
Damn achievement points, I don't even like the game. Though I am really good at it. I've come in first in every multiplayer game I got, and pretty much single-handedly got the shutout for that achievement.

I need to beat half that game on Ultra still but none of my friends play that stupid game. The 10k kills should take about 3 hours of playing the training level over and over...can get about 80 kills every 2 minutes. I'll work on it every few days.

The challenge comes in trying to get 100% everything. It is not easy at all and quite fun in trying.

I don't get it either. I made it to the last level in the demo and dispatched the 'disco ball' boss on my first try. If there is more to the game, they should have definitely done a better job on the variety in the demo. Definitely didn't make me want to replay it, let alone drop 800 points on it.
