Off topic, but just a reminder... Phantasy Star 2 is also available on a GBA cart (along with 1 and 3) and on the Genesis collection for PS2, PSP, Xbox (along with 2 and IV). I don't think they ever did release here the remade ones that came out on the PS2 a while back.

Uggh! I know, the bastards need to hurry up and do it (meaning release it on VC)!

I have the GBA cart but Phantasy Star I is kind of broken on it in that, if you have certain combinations of equipment, you can not be hurt, but, you can then upgrade say your armor, and then the same monsters that weren't hurting you with you previous weaker stat armor will now do MORE damage to you. I just couldn't get through the whole game because it was tedium to try to find out what the current magical combination was.

Ah, I didn't know that... I jumped straight to Phantasy Star 2 on that collection. I finished Phantasy Star 1 on the master system adapter for the Genesis, but didn't feel like getting out the graph paper to create all the maps again. Man was that a chore.

I'm really liking the Virtual Console - there are quite a few games I really want to play that I've either missed or loved as a kid. I never owned an NES, so this should be a good way to revisit some of the classics I missed out on.

My most wanted game has yet to be announced though: Super Mario RPG for the SNES

I have this cart (my wife reminded me of this when I mentioned PS2 on the VC, apparently it was a gift several years ago), but be warned there is a weird bug in this port that will wipe out all your save data on Phantasy Star I. It only effects the first game, but as mentioned above that game is pretty much unplayable for anyone not downloading the maps or using graph paper.

Kirby 64™: The Crystal Shards: (Nintendo 64®, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Kirby's first 3-D adventure is also his Nintendo 64 debut, and it finds the always-versatile hero battling a new enemy called Dark Matter. Dark Matter is after a distant land's powerful crystal, but a young fairy named Ribbon attempts to save it by escaping with the gem to Dream Land. Now the crystal has been broken, and it's scattered around the world. Take control of Kirby and help him journey across six worlds, battling a wide variety of enemies and challenging bosses, as he tries to collect all 100 pieces of the shattered crystal. Along the way, you'll use Kirby's trademark copying ability to use enemies' strengths against them. Not only that, but try combining any two abilities to create a brand-new one that is usually stronger than the original. Throw in three exciting multiplayer minigames, and you've got a package of which even King Dedede would be proud. Fans of Kirby and action games with bright, colorful graphics should vacuum this one up.

Psychosis: (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence, 600 Wii Points): This is a side-scrolling shooter played in a world created from the mind of a twisted demon. Your soul has suddenly wandered into that evil world that exists in every person's heart. The only way out is to blast your way past the grotesque creatures that block your path in five "causes" (stages). You must face the dangers of this psychedelic world by making full use of three shot types and the satellite option. With power-ups, you can change your shots to a wide-coverage beam, a satellite-generated laser and more. Each shot type can be powered up to three levels. You can also block enemy fire by rotating the satellites to a desired position. How you use these features will be the key to successfully escaping this strange and surreal world.

I used to love Kirby 64 back in the day. It was fun to see the different combinations of attacks.

I'm a fan of Kirby 64. Not the greatest Kirby ever, but well worth 1000 points. I bought it today. One more N64 cart I can sell.

I miss Psychosis on the TG! I might have to dust off the DUo one of these days and fire up a few oldies but goodies.

Kirby 64 was great.. I might have to grab that, N64 games look great on the Wii.

Also, I heard that the import-only Genesis versions of Pengo and Fantasy Zone are coming.

Sorry for the delayed reply - much appreciated!

I always loved these games on the SMS. I don't know if I ever played a Genesis version. Possibly I got a ROM at some point in the past. I'm ready for it.

There were no Genesis versions of these games as they were never released in NA. As a huge fan of Fantasy Zone 1 & 2 on the SMS, I can't wait to finally play Super Fantasy Zone on the VC!

I meant the import-only Mega-Drive one that Pixy was referring to. It's possible I played a ROM in the past, but just can't remember. Either way I'm down.

So I guess the C64 is also officially coming to VC, but I don't think it's confirmed for the US yet. Looks like the first confirmed games are International Karate and Uridium. I used to play Uridium back in the day, but can't imagine spending even $5 on it now.

However, there are some games I loved to death and would gladly pick up if they were available:

Master of the Lamps - my all time favorite.
Winter/Summer Games
Archon
Ghostbusters
G.I. Joe (even though it sucked, it was fun as hell to play at the time)
Lords of Conquest
Kennedy Approach
Trolls and Tribulations

I'm sure there are others, but those are just off the top of my head. I also know, deep down, they all suck and shouldn't revisit them, but damn were they fun back in the early-mid 80s.

I loved that game back in the day. I have to check and see if I still have it for my SNES. If not I'll download that on day 1.
