No, there's not an achievement in the demo. But if the same thing works in the retail version (A works when it says to press Start), then I'd miss out on possibly the easiest 5 points ever!

I haven't played a Crash Bandicoot game since the original way back on PS1(?) but I tried the "Crash of the Titans" Demo and not only did it look great, it was pretty fun. I had given up on the Crash and Sonic type games and that last Sonic demo suck ass so I wasn't expecting much from "Crash" but was pleasantly surprised.

I like the return of the "old-fashioned 3D platformer", but the problems I had with that demo were #1: the complete lack of charm or character from Crash. Naughty Dog always made him a humorous, crazy character (dying was never frustrating because it was always funny to watch) but here he was just kind of blah. #2 There are these widely spaced platforms later in the level that you have to jump and spin to and they're so far apart that you keep dying a cheap death. That never worked for me in a platformer and it still bugs the hell out of me.

Overall, doesn't look bad, but no match for my only PS3 purchase this year -- Ratchet & Clank Future.

Yeah - I enjoyed it, too. More than I thought I would. I may actually pick that up eventually.
The Simpsons demo was kinda "meh" to me.

Me too...it was funny for a while, but it seemed like one of those games where you have to do annoyingly tedious things just to move on. If the demo was like that, what's the actual game going to be like? It was easily the nicest looking Simpsons game I've ever seen though.

The wording is confusing though - they says "(Includes Black Wireless Controller, Play and Charge Kit, and Rechargeable Battery)" - but I'm pretty sure it's just the controller and play & charge kit, which obviously includes a battery, right?

I upgraded to the Elite on Saturday...two days later, they announce the bundling of games. On Sunday, I bought a P&C kit with the intention of getting a second controller this week...two days later, there's this deal. Gotta love it. :lol:

Really? Wow, I didn't feel that way but different strokes right? I found the characters funny; and taking over monsters and using their abilities was great.

Anyway, I've always hated jumping difficult platforms in well, platform video games, so I can see your point. Just so you know, Crash can kinda fly when he's in the air. He does a spin that's like a helicopter if you hit jump again while he's in the air and this helps with those platforms.

There is a free Toyota Yaris game and free gamer pics up in the marketplace. The game is kinda lame, but at least it was free ..

Do yourself a favor and don't download Yaris... also remember there's a dedicated XBLA thread :D

The bad news? It's the last bit of DLC for the game. Fighter's Stronghold will add a new castle for you to run, complete with your own vintner to create wines for you, a combat trainer, even a taxidermist to create trophies for your pad ... and creep out the local girls.


Free DLC is always good. Don't forget to download it that opening week. You can always delete it and DL again later for free as long as you jumped aboard the first time.

Okay...I just downloaded a demo called Beautiful Katamari. What the hell?

I had heard the Katamari name before but never really read anything about it or played it. By far one of the strangest games I have ever played. It's also quite funny (the graphics & sound effects).

So what's the point? To make the biggest piece of trash? The demo doesn't really give you any instructions or goals. The demo is pretty short but strangely compelling.

Yeah, the goal is to make the biggest Katamari (star) by rolling crap up in a limited period of time. The original was great becasue of it's thorough Japanese-strangeness. Since then, they've gotten less cute by being more self-aware (and more expensive each time). I like the idea of online MP, but they're on crack if they think they've made a $40 game. This should be a 1200 pt XBLA game at most. I have no doubt this will die on the shelves at that price point. The orginal was $20 and for the limited gameplay and PS1 graphics, it was priced correctly.

Well, depending on how patient you are, there is usually a deal on it for just under $40 before any rebates. I got a 12+1 month deal a couple weeks ago from Buy.com, like $38 then I used GCO and got it for $28. Wish I would've got a 2nd.
