Well I got 5 achievements off of them... got 1st 4-5 times, and consistently placed 3rd or above out of 5-6 people (placed 5th once).
"Hey maybe we'll just stay here idle and see if he leaves" "Me: See if who leaves?" "That Jap" "Hey he left" "Yeah I sent him a message asking him to leave" "hahahahahaha" "I don't want to keep taking him on all by myself and doing all the work" (after a game where I had just gotten second after the guy they were talking about). I left two matches after that, disgusted. Plan to send the guy a message saying I had nothing to do with those ***holes  They sounded 24 or so. So I've downloaded ALL arcade games. So far I've deleted two: Doom and the bug one. I REALLY like GEON and have half a mind to buy it... maybe if enough people here buy it :D Not interested in Pac-Man CE so that one I won't buy for sure. Like the fish game but the demo will do. After some time you notice that games are pretty much the same with different graphics ... i.e. there's NO difference between Assault Heroes and Geometry Wars. I REALLY liked Assault Heroes and Geometry Wars but won't buy them because I have fun enough with the demos. A game has to REALLY tickle my fancy to buy the full version, otherwise I have enough with the demo part. Cloning Clyde stays on the HD for now but it'll be deleted soon as it seems it can get old fast (for me). REALLY liked Uno and can't wait until it gets here (I have about 9 games coming my way... full versions). So for now it's just Tetris, Time Pilot, Astropop, and Frogger. Also like the Egyptian Zuma clone, but I'll have those two as demos only, that gives enough play for each. Might think about picking up the mini-golf game if it goes on sale and I get better, I suck as it. :D I REALLY want the pool game (willing to pay even the full price) but I saw that it was on sale for 900 points on the console advertisement but when I go to buy it it's full price... any idea how to get it for 900? BTW I REALLY want Viva Pinata. What's the max I should pay for it? I saw a random auction at eBay for $30 shipped. For those of you with both (consoles), should I hold off for the Wii version instead? |

Also, MSRP is $20, so no, don't pay $30. Wow, so it's a Platinum Hit? It was $20 on eBay with $10 shipping. Time to go hit up Family Video :D ($1 shipping is cheaper than the tax on $20). BTW does anyone have the FamilyVideo $3 off for existing customers coupon? BTW is the new XBOX Viva Pinata in the same vein + more or is it a completely different game? |

Deb, Viva Pinata is one of my favorites. It's well worth MSRP. The new VP game is a bunch of mini games; it looks like fun but it's nothing like the regular game except for the apperance of the pinatas.
You have like 8000 points, so no need to be quite so, um... frugal with them. It'll take you forever to go through all those points. Buy the games you like. If you get Assault Heros, I'll play co-op with you. I think the pool sale is over, but if you want to get it, that's another game I have. My best friend went and threw away the free code for that one, saying "I want to play Gears and Rainbow 6, not pool!" friggin' idiot. He accidently threw away his code for the bonus CoD3 maps as well. |
The new Viva Pinata game is more like Mario Party, read mini-games.

So I ended up picking up Viva Pinata for $17.98 shipped at Family Video :D ($3 off code for existing members is NEWMEM3F). After the video I was hooked, although the worm pinatas are creepy. Might sound like too much of a woman here but the pinatas were so cute and adorable. I'm going to pick up the mini-games one also but only after it's $30 or less. I'll only pay full price for something like Halo which I think it's going to take a while to go down in price, and guarantees me 2-3 years of online matches.
Decker: 8000 pts is only 10 games, and I don't want to start buying just because I have points. I want games that I'm going to play over and over again. I missed a $5+ discount on the pool game :( Anyone think it will go on sale again? Even with Co-op, 10 levels of Assault Heroes is the same as one level of Assault Heroes - the demo is good enough for me :D Does anyone happen to have a free pool code that they don't plan to use? :D |

They have so many games now on the arcade, I doubt you will see the same game on sale again for a long while. That's even assuming there will be more sales this often. Again, it's taken two years to get a discount on a whopping total of 8 mostly average games. Since you don't have a ton to play, I'd say it's worth the extra $5 not to wait. Here's hoping though. I'd still like to pick up Roboblitz but it's way overpriced as is. |
Deb, don't forget about the demos of many retail games at the Marketplace. You can download demos of both VP games, I think. The demo of VP Party Animals is very generous with like 8 mini games to play through. You might find some others you like -- I really like the demo of Ace Combat 6.
And if there's any full-price retail game you're planning on buyin, let me know since the TRU b2G1 sale starts again on 10/14 and there will probably only be two I want (GH III & Orange Box) so if you want a $60 for $40, we could probably work that out. |
I ended up getting Geon and Billiards (Geon is awesome but there are no players on right now :( What happened to global/always-someone-on gaming?).
So that's $25 for 2 games, sigh. I've gotten 3 games so far and can get 6 $10 games more and 1 $5 game. I feel I'll be getting a lot out of those games, though. So if anyone wants to go at Tetris, Geon, or Billiards, let me know. I didn't like Kameo. Decker I'll keep my eye out. I'm downloading Top Spin 2 and Viva Pinata. I want a driving game but I don't know which one. I want the one that has the longest online longevity. Also want a tennis game. If Top Spin 2 is out by the TRU sale and I like the demo, I might that up. Top Spin 1 didn't play on the 360  It's all about online longevity. |
Here's my take on the tennis games:
Top Spin 2 - Very Sim heavy. Loses a lot of the fun factor of the original. The courts and the way the ball plays are excellent though. VirtuaTennis 3 - Arcadey. Very fun, but not very realistic. Top Spin 1 - is a good balance between both those games. It's unfortunate that it's not backwards compatible because I think it's better than both of the newer games. Of the two 360 games, I'd give the edge to VirtuaTennis. As for racing games, you can't lose with Burnout. Still stands pretty strong against even newer competition. |
I got my free codes today from that registering thing. Got Joust and Robotron (which I already have the latter). So if anyone wants to trade some other game other than Joust, Robotron, and Uno to get Robotron. Let me know.
|
Top Spin 2 was a launch game. It's $20 now.
My favorite driving game is Test Drive Unlimited. It's very cool because it takes place entirely on the island of Oahu (my hometown! :) ). Everyone else playing the game online is also on the island at the same time, so you can randomly race anyone or just try to ram them off the road. It's a lot of fun and pretty cheap as well. |
Top Spin 2 wasn't a launch game and TD:U still SRPs for $39.99(although it is fun).
:D |
Check your local Targets, I see 360 games on clearance from time to time.
Just today I was in one at lunch. They had Tomb Raider for $15 and another game I can't recall for $15. |
You really liked Geon? Huh. You would be the first person i have talked to who thought the game was fun.
|
You can pick up Viva Pinata for $8.99 at Buy.com after GCO (free shipping, too):

Does anyone here play or own Dirt?
I loved loved loved Rallisport back in the day and was surprised to see no Rallisport 3 yet for the 360. I know that Dirt is Colin McRae's game and they were always good but seemed to lack the spack that Rallisport had. I have read good things about Dirt so far and was thinking of checking it out. |

Oh yeah I bought Bomberman also BTW :D I like Carcasonne, still thinking about it. May not pick it up though.
|
Yeah, I tried the Geon demo and it seemed like a 2-player competitive version of Pac-man, only slow and not fun. To each their own.
|
Another vote for Geon is LAME.
