Nope. You are free to do as you please. Save 'em all, harvest 'em all, or mix and match depending on your mood. Doesn't matter.

Same thing happened with me. The tip of his drill (insert dirty joke here) was knocked off. Easy fix with a little bit of glue...but disappointing all the same. I think the game has great production values....but i am flying through it. I only played it for an hour last night and i wm onto level 3 already. Not sure if the replay value on this game is going to be there.

Wha? Level 3 after an hour? So you are past Neptune's Bounty?

I'm in no rush with this game. I'm enjoying exploring every inch, looking for the recordings, extra ammo, health packs and such.

I still bought the damn thing though. I played for at least 6 or 7 hours yesterday. I'm not plowing through it but I've made some progress. I have died dozens of times playing it on the harder setting. The AI really fits the game. They don't really have a pattern or any reasoning behind it, but they still kick your ass.

I picked up my copy last night but I probably won't start it till next week sometime. The wait is going to kill me but I have to finish the game I'm currently playing first.

(referencing a few things that were in response to my "help with Big Daddy's post)

I know that dying has no real impact on anything ingame, but that, to me, is just kindof like a God mode, which I don't want to play the game as, so each time I die, I'll restart from my last save (which is why the first Big Daddy took so dang long to kill). When I posted for help, though, I had just gotten to the end of the level and was taking a break from playing (so I hadn't tried the BD's on that level). Man are they easier than the first one ! That first one was killing me so much due to it's never ending charge, while all of the ones I've faced since then are more of a ranged type BD, which is so much easier.

I played for quite a while yesterday and got to.... hrm... it's the place after having to collect the components to the gas to save the forest. The last battle while waiting for the gas to load was mighty intense (where you need to defend a small area for a while). I had already hacked the turret at the start of the place, and after I inserted the gas, a BD was wandering in a close room. I just used the "hypnotize Big Daddy" plasmid over and over, so anyone that wanted to come in had to make it by a turret and a BD to get to me . I don't know how I would have survived that fight without dying if he hadn't been there.

Now if only I could pull myself away from playing Persona 3 for 2 seconds to try it out.

Hey I'm from Indy too!

Not that anyone was holding their breath, but they exchanged it with zero problems - the manager just opened up a new copy and swapped discs - he didn't even look at my receipt.

Now to not have a life this weekend... good thing it's not too long of a game.
But then next week is Metroid - gah, being a geek is tough on the ol' social life.

Don't forget that according to the forum posts on the 2k forums you can only install this game on different hardware 2 times as the copy protection ties the game to your hardware. After 2 times you will never be able to activate it again. Can we say COASTER

That's because they will just throw it in their drawer and sell it used for $55.

So does that mean if you upgrade your PC twice and/or format your hard drive twice, then the game will no longer install after that?

The inner hub of the disc is actually cracked - they won't be able to sell it at all. I'm sure they have an exchange policy with their distributer.

Apparently, you can only install/activate the game on 2 computers at any one time. So if you get a new computer or something and install it there, you'll need to uninstall it from the other computer first.

Of course, the problem arises if your system craps out and you have to reformat. You won't be able to uninstall, thus losing one of your activations.

Sounds like a fitting protection system to me.

Oh noz, I can only have it simultaneously installed twice at any given time!! And what if something happens and I lose both? I'll have to make a PHONE call? NOOOOO.

I don't like copy protection either, but you gotta admit, it's pretty much necessary these days.

Not to me it doesn't. This copy protection will be cracked by pirates in a week or two max. It didn't take them long to crack Half-life 2 to work without being on Steam. No copy protection is unbreakable. All they really do is hamper the legitimate buyers, which is one of the many reasons I hate PC gaming. You don't get these asinine copy protections on console games.

My copy has frozen up twice on me
Not just pausing for a moment or two, but completely freezing up.

Why are you blaming your copy of the game when it's more likely that it's your 360 that's acting up?

Ugh, I wasted countless first aid kits and ammo because I didn't realize that the Little Sisters hide and if you kill the Big Daddy at that point you'll just have to fight another one. I would kill him and then wander around trying to find the girl... when I did she had a new Big Daddy with her. The one fun moment was when I lured the BD pretty close to the Vita chamber... I would just keep respawning, make a few hits, get killed, and pop right back out at and attack him again. It's a bit cheap, but it saves on first aid.

Here's 2K's "explanation" of the widescreen issue:
Instead of cropping the FOV for 4:3 displays and making all 4:3 owners mad in doing so, we slightly extended the vertical FOV for standard def mode: we never wanted to have black bars on people's displays. (This way, everybody is happy...) This does mean that people playing on a standard def display see slightly more vertical space, but, this does not significantly affect the game-play experience and, we felt that it best served our goal of keeping the game experience as close as possible to the original design and art vision on both types of displays.

This completely goes against what they first said about the aspect...
You will see more in widescreen. We use a different projection matrix; there is no squashing or stretching of the image involved.

Check the link I posted a bit up on the page. It shows a comparison picture. Instead of cropping the L&R sides for a full-screen display, they cropped the top and bottom to make the widescreen aspect. So the people with the more advanced equipment get to see less of the picture.
