I'm saving them but I replayed the first two levels because my friends wanted to see the game and I did one save, one harvest. My only real complaint on the game is that the hacking mini-game is kind of annoying once you get to the harder ones since they're often just unsolvable or, on the safes, you have about three seconds to uncover one specific piece to reroute it from the corner before it starts. That's not challenging, it's annoying.

While hacking is cool, it's too repetative. They should have had a couple of different types of hacks, not just pipes. I'm pissed that I missed a few of the recordings. I thought that I had got them all. I don't think I'll go back and get those.

I got around that by equipping a lot of hacking tonics.

I agree. In the very least they should have had a different type of hacking minigame for each type of object. Vending machine, health stations, safes, cameras, turrets, and robots each should have had a different hacking game.

If you think hacking is bad in Bioshock, don't play Mass Effect!

I finished it up on Christmas morning.. all the other achievements all came rather naturally to me so at the end I didn't mind looking up what audio diaries I was missing (which ended up being only three.. all behind crawl doors) to get that one. I apparently played very thoroughly. I can definitely see myself playing this again and again.

Just curious: I have not hooked my 360 up for on-line use. Is there a way to download patches to my computer - burn to disc then put the disc in the 360 to update? My router is on th top floor and my 360 is in the basement so I don't know when I'll be getting around to hooking it up.

I've played a large number of the GOTY candidates and this is still my favorite of 2007. Orange Box and Mario Galaxy are damn close, but nothing was as fun as playing Bioshock. Never had issues with the hacking, but it is much easier on the PC and the tonics and tools make them quick and painless for the most part.

Finally beat this today. One complaint about the end...

Spoiler:
Fontaine was ridiculously easy. I couldn't believe it...I didn't even use a first aid kit fighting him.

Loved the twist.

Two questions, though. First off, can someone explain the ending you get when you harvest the Sisters? I think I understand it as meaning that

Spoiler:
you let the greed and lust for power go to your head, and unleash Rapture on all of the world

is that right?

And can someone spoil the "save the sisters" ending? I'll play through it again at some point, but...with all the games I have to catch up on, that won't happen anytime soon.

I forget most of the details but Wiki doesn't.

Spoiler:

If the player only rescued the Little Sisters (therefore saving their lives), the ending shows the rescued Little Sisters returning to the surface and living full lives under Jack's care, including them graduating college and getting married; it ends on a heart-warming tone, with an elderly Jack surrounded on his deathbed by all of the adult Little Sisters.

I just got my replacement Big Daddy statuette and art book in today. Yay!

The Big Daddy comes very securely packaged... It's in a white box inside the main delivered box, and inside the white box it's sandwiched snugly between two pieces of styrofoam held together with tape. Inside the styrofoam, the Big Daddy is wrapped in a plastic bag. Physically there's not much difference between the two. The paint on the face which wraps around behind him is gold/bronze now instead of a dull yellow. The blood splatters are approximately in the same area, but still seem to be randomized. The one thing that concerns me the most is the left foot of the new one... it seems like it's been chopped off and glued shoddily, which results in a much more wobbly stance... When I get my camera back I'll take pictures.

Nothing much to say about the art book. It's beautifully done, glossy, high res, and includes everything in that PDF they released months ago, nothing more.

All in all it's a good package. A little peeved that my new Big Daddy is handicapped, but whatever from more than a foot away you wouldn't even notice. Thanks 2k!

I didn't notice a foot issue on my new one. The new one is also heavier. The art book is beautiful.

I have to applaud 2k for coming through.

Got my replacement today, as well. No problems with the foot on it, and the book is really nice. Excellent work, 2K.

This is correct but it's not very detailed. It's a very short ending either way. The "good" ending just ends with you sitting in a hospital bed and a woman's hand comes into screen and holds yours. Here's a link.

Tho I've owned the game since Oct. I hadn't had a chance to play it until yest/today. Atmosphere is very creepy. Graphics are great. I cant point my weapons where I want them. I'm fighting the controls more than the enemies. I wish I had gotten this on pc instead of 360.

So I just did a run through of the game on hard without using a Vita Chamber, yet I didn't get the Brass Balls achievement. What gives?

My options menu also didn't have the option to turn the Vita Chambers off. From what I've read, that's a known glitch that shouldn't affect the Brass Balls achivement, as long as you reload if you die. So that's what I did, but it didn't seem to work.

Has anyone encountered this glitch? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Were you promoted to update the game before you played? There was an update a few months back that allowed the achievement to unlock.

Good to see this game still being mentioned and yea I'd like to go back on this one but I've got to finish Assasin's Creed. Still one of if not the best looking game out there. Can't wait for the second one.

5 months later, another post.

So I finished this tonight. I'm glad I finally played it, but I'm already over it. Like most people seemed to say in this thread, it just sort of fizzled out. It went on too long after the Fontaine reveal with boring fetch quests and that god-awful escort mission. WTF was the point of it anyway if the was no penalty for losing the little sister? Just pop another out of the dispenser. I actually thought for a moment I'd not get my 100-point "savior" achievement when the first died.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone around here went for the brass balls achievement - complete on hard using no vita-chambers. It seems pretty easy once you get to a certain point, assuming you don't bother too much with big daddies until you can handle them with powerful weapons. Of course skipping the Adam collection would slow you down overall by limiting the number of plasmids and tonics you could equip. I'm wondering if it is worth trying for a relative FPS retard like myself.

I will play the second quicker
