Try playing the games with a different XBL profile. Or without connecting to XBL.

L&O's "trick" doesn't work. You will still need to be signed in to Xbox Live to play the games or else everyone would let their friends borrow their gamertag to download games on their console. I think the only way to properly transfer everything is with the transfer cable.

Not my trick - just what the bastards told me to do. Guess I didn't fully check the results

If just upgrading/switching the hard drive, you can download the content (or use the transfer cable), but neither will help you when switching consoles.

Shit, just my luck my HDMI-less "Fuckin' Refurb"(official name) will last 4-ever.

I thought there was a 'gamercard' generating site that would allow you to search by game, and it would show all the people playing it. I tried Mygamercard.net but it only has pre-selected games to check, I was trying to see how many people were playing BioShock (and it's not on their list).

Okay, I just tried the demo for Beautiful Katamari based on some of the posts here and have to say that was the absolutely most bizarre game I have ever seen or played. I guess I just don't get it.

Not everyone is stuck with the demo.

But still, it's an aquired taste. I tried the demo too and while it was interesting and the music was catchy, I don't get the zealous love. But then again I can see where the Cute/quirky Japanese game fans would bust a nut over it. But it's fair to say that not everyone will dig it.

I created a new profile - all old games could not be played - newly redownloaded games could be played. This was when offline.
i didn't have an old profile to test that variation with though.
And when I say games could be played - that means full version, not just trial.

I'm still kind of miffed that the first game was only $20 or $30 and now they're all $40 or more.

Can someone test this with a pre-existing second profile?

Anyone try Hexic 2 yet? I downloaded the demo and am shocked at how disappointed I am with it. I know everyone is bitching about paying $10 for a sequel to a freebee. I don't have a problem with that if it's worth $10 -- Hey, I spent $20 to see The Simpsons Movie with the Mrs and have no regrets there even though the TV show is free to watch. I just think this game is far inferior to the original. First of all : it looks ugly. The orginal was simple but colorful and sharp; this one is bland and murky. It's far harder to easily spot groupings and the blurriness began to hurt my eyes a bit, especially with the smaller gems. The gameplay could be sweet, but there's too much going on for me with meters to watch, locking gem segments and bomb tossing left and right. It's too busy for a gem swapping puzzler, at least for me. I'd much rather spend my 800 points to unlock the full version of Zuma and I might just do that now.
Anyone else with an opinion of this one?

I downloaded Ecco tonight and was pleasantly surprised. This game is actually better than I remembered it. Perhaps because I'm more mature now. But damn was it effing frustrating trying to not run out of air while swimming past the octopus.

It took me a little while to figure out what the hell to do, but then I got into the swing of things. I might give it another try or two on demo, but I can't see tossing out coin to get it.

If this is true, then all XBLA games would essentially be un-locked. You could go to your friend's house, sign in with your profile, download the game at which point the game would be "unlocked" for his whole console.
