Rumor:

According to Gamespot Korea (which is in Korean, so have fun reading that), they've "confirmed" with a Japanese gaming insider that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 and will be shown on the 360 at the Tokyo Game Show. They supposedly will be demoing the game on a 360 due to their strong relationship with Microsoft and because they probably love having fists full of cash. Also interesting to note is that the Japanese tipster said that a PS3 release wasn't detailed yet, hinting at a possible timed exclusive for the 360. Juicy stuff.

So having been hooked on GHII this weekend I have a question. Does someone mind giving me a quick lesson on GHIII vs. Rock Band?

Which has the wireless guitar? Can it be used for both games? Online play in both? I could care less about the multiple instruments in Rock Band. I know the developers of GHII are now doing Rock Band, which gives them the edge, IMO, but help me out here. I think I finally want to get one of these games.

I'd entertain a NG2 on the 360. I enjoyed the first one.

Oh come on, it sounds like until this weekend you weren't even interested in the guitar part of these games, you know you'd love to sing or play drums to them.

GH3 I believe comes with a wireless guitar this time ($100), Rock Band has a wireless guitar but not sold in the "package" deal (which is $200 - includes game, wired guitar, drums, mic).

Guitars should be interchangeable between games, though the Rock Band guitar is supposedly bigger/more realistic, and also has 5 additional frets down low, along with a 5-way sound effect switch thingy.

Not sure of online for GH3? But Rock Band definitely has it, and from what I've read, will be much deeper of a game than GH2. How it'll stack up against GH3, dunno.

Even if you didn't care about the other instruments in Rock Band, you could play online and have somebody else drumming and somebody else singing (which could be cool or really annoying).

I'm getting Rock Band & drums for sure...GH3 I'll definitely play, but maybe just rent it or pick it up used.

Oh yeah, Rock Band is supposed to have a LOT of downloadable tracks, including entire albums (The Who's "Who's Next" will be the first).

Corvin, I would go completely by the music in the game and if that's any interest to you (maybe one stands out above the other)

the games are going to be so similar, especially if you only want to play the guitar c

Well, I just meant, I wouldn't say extra instruments would hold any sway over a purchase.

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning towards Rock Band because the developers definitely know what they are doing. As for songs, I guess final setlists will have to be compared.

I really hate the wired guitar, that definitely has to go.

That sucks. It's all about drifting in this game though, so maybe that'll help if you're trying to play it like a more realistic racing game. I'm glad to see the series pick up some steam every since the PSP version came out, after three nearly identical games on the PS1 I had to give the game a break. Let me know if you want to race sometime.

I'll pick up Street Trace once I beat Novadrome. There hasn't been a decent racing title on XBLA yet.

Space Giraffe looks cool, plus it's only $5.

Has any info about KH3 been released yet? I know there's some teaser trailer but I've been keeping myself from watching it until I finish 2.

The only "next KH" talk I've heard is that it won't necessarily focus on Sora and won't be "KH3" per se. More of a CoM spin-off.

Also, I highly doubt any KH talk belongs in the 360 thread

You never know...There have been a few games that I thought would never grace an XBOX but now have. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

If a KH spin-off doesn't appear on the DS, I'd be surprised.

I thought I remember reading the end of September? Was it meant to come out sooner? And when is the tentative release of the UDON-erific SF2 coming out?

I'm really anticipating both of these in a major way.

Well that leaves tomorrow and next week. I think tomorrow's crop has already been announced.

That would be a hell of a double bill for next week. Doubt that will happen. I bet Puzzle Fighter gets bumped.

Here's a good idea for feature I'd like to see in the fall dashboard update:

When sending a game invite to another player, it should cross reference their "Player Games" list to check if they've actually played it first. For the annoying factor of XBLA games putting themselves in the list even if you just play the trial game, it should also check for a zero Gamerscore attached to that game.

Decent idea, but I, like most, will have games in my played list that I no longer own. So I might still get invites to games I can't play.

I had a problem where someone who had Halo 2 would constantly spam invites to his game, though I don't own that game.

I'd say after the 20th invite or so, I must have sent him about 30 invites, back to back, for Gears of War. To my dismay, he actually joined my game. I've since removed him from my list

Maybe they could add an "Accept Invites" flag to each game on the list that you turn off if you've gotten rid of (or just don’t want to play) the game. Since the invites happen over the dashboard and not in-game, surely something like that is possible.

i wish they would allow you turn off the pop-ups of someone coming online when you are watching a movie.

sure, i could just disconnect, but I like having auto-connect on.
