I thought I was the only one this happen to! I went back after getting the first four 1600 cards. They only had one 1600 card, so I grabbed a 4000 card with the 1600 card. They gave me the 4000 card for $22. My point total comes to 12,000 points. Not bad

All mine had were the 4000 ones. I'd already bought 4 on Friday though. Went back to get the difference back.

Is downloadable content now exclusive to your gamertag? I ask because I would download extra cars for Test Drive Unlimited and my brother would also be able to use them, same console. But now he can't even play his game anymore because a message pops up stating something like "Downloadable content no longer available, do you want to go to the Marketplace" I assume that the game no longer lets him play because he now has to pay for these cars that I had already bought. MAJOR BULLSHIT!!

As far as i know DLC had always been locked to a particular gamertag - not just open to every tag on a particular console.

I had no luck at my CC. How much does a 4000 point card normally run?

this sucks. every CC around here has no 1600 point cards and they wouldn't substitute anything for a bit of a discount like others are reporting. plus to make matters worse, I tried to PM at BB but they said they had to call first to confirm the items were in fact in stock which of course they weren't so I'm without and cheap points.

anyone want to help a poor guy out with some points? I can paypal some extra $ for your effort it possible.

What is this CC deal people are talking about? Is there something in their ad about a discounted price on the points cards?

Current CC ad. It lists several items including the 1600 point card for $19.99. Above that, it says Save $20 with the purchase of any 2 XBOX LIVE accessories $19.99 & UP. The deal isn't ringing up in store or online with the 1600 point cards, and some people are getting denied but really I don't see how they could justify that stance.

Yeah, I don't see how they could deny it either. The deal is stated very clearly in their ad, and in two full size posters in the store I was at today, with the 1600 point cards clearly shown in all three.

I bought mine full price at Best Buy, and then pricematched down to $8.99 per card with their 110% policy.

It's been a while since I bought any games online but I'm going to get 2 360's and copies of Halo 3 and want to send one to my brother. Any tips on where I should order a 360 and Halo 3 online to get it close to the Halo release date? I would like the system and game to arrive on my brother's doorstep as close to the launch date as possible. Obviously I'll wait until this expected price drop occurs before ordering (or mid-august if it never happens). For my own system I will check out Costco but I also wouldn't be opposed to ordering it online as well at the same time if you guys have suggestions for good places to order from or in-store packages that might be out there.

You could order from Amazon. That way you avoid tax, get free shipping and if you bought it with Halo, they might ship together.

Going to be selling off my 360 to upgrade to the Elite soon. Other than getting a transfer cable, what do I need to do? Should I wipe out the hard drive, so that my credit card information and so on are deleted? Any other precautions to take?

Also, as an addendum to that, if I bought a memory card/whatever and just used that to transfer items from my current system to an Elite, would I be able to just re-download the XBLA games/other Live content onto the Elite without having to pay again? Or is the data transfer cable the best option? Really don't want to buy the Elite and then wait on Microsoft to send it to me before selling the current system.

Basically, are there any disadvantages to doing it this way?

I bought my 2 cards on tuesday after Corvin tipped me off. The customer service lady was clueless but eventually rang it up correctly. I had her check and apparently they had another 2 cards, so i picked those up as well.

I only got Pac Man CE and Geometry Wars at this point

This deal has spread...I'm still waiting to get some, hopefully PM them to another store. I believe I have like 6000 points on my account, but I could always use more for random purchases.

I might try Wal-Mart for 2 more. They generally price match anything without question as long as you have the ad.

Yes, anything you've previously purchased on Marketplace (except movie rentals) can be downloaded again and again as long as you are signed into your Live account. However, since all purchases are tied to both your account and the unit you purchased them on, from that point on, you'll have to be logged into Live to play any of your XBLA games. The memory unit is very small. You'd be able to transfer your game saves that way and just re-download everything else. MS is sending out transfer cables to people who purchase an Elite so they can get their information over to the new system. Also I've bought a product called Datel Xport that allows you to back up your HD to your computer, so that would also be a solution that would work.

Yet another reason why XBLA download purchases are not such a great deal. And why XBLA Unplugged discs need to be released.

I went to CC as they opened.. they had none and not even a place for them in their Xbox section. I had them check and there wasn't a single CC in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that had them. I suppose I'll go back and see if they can special order them or give me something on the 4000 point card, but I was a bit annoyed that morning and just left without even grabbing an ad to try to price match somewhere.

Yep. It blows, but I'm always connected, so . Not a big deal now, but come next gen keeping the old gen always connected will suck.

Hopefully they will have a way for you to re-download everything to the next xbox instead of just losing everything.

My store had none.

I wouldn't be surprised to get denied though, after what happened with the Stronghold fiasco.

Ya got dat right Bobby

I have a refurb and so far I've not had any problems with this stuff. But then again 1. I haven't bought any DL games and 2. I'm always logged into LIVE.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but that Dynasty Warriors: Gundam demo was fun. I love Japanese robots so I may pick up the game.
