As for the HDMI issue, glad they are adding in all, but does me NO good.

Why would they give you a new 65nm? They send back refurbs, and if the new systems are fixed you wouldn't get one back as a refurb for a long time.
And I doubt they are going to replace the chip and add an HDMI port to older systems.

I just want to know when Amazon start shipping out the newer units. My friend said he'll buy my 360 for $300.. so for $50 I'll get HDMI, the new heat sink and possibly the 65nm chipset, plus I'll have another local friend in on the 360 action. The only issue is how much of a fight I'll have to put up with MS to give me my points back so I can re-buy my XBLA games.. I will not settle for gimped-out "online only" versions.

I'm going to try to find one locally at B&M before my CC return statute is up. If I can find it, I'll probably just swap the hard drive out and return the old one. Only thing that'll buy me is game saves so it isn't that big of a deal. I only have 5 XBLA games downloaded and I'll always be on Live anyway so that doesn't matter much to me. But it would be nice to have the option to play offline should the need arise.

I honestly don't really need HDMI, the quieter (cooler?) chip is what I want the most.

I was inches away from downloading an HD movie over XBL last night. 480 points doesn't seem terrible, but the whole 24 hours thing after hitting play is shit.
I wish they did it like 72 hours, or the time you'd have for a normal rental

The Stranglehold demo seemed a little janky at first. The "sliding across a table" animation needs a little work, as he goes from standing to sliding with almost no frames of animation between.
That said, the first time I dove on the ground under a hail of bullets, then rolled underneath a nearby table while watermelons and baskets exploded above me and kneecapped a guy with a single shot, my shit-eating grin was enough to make me want to pick up the game.

I have a question for Elite owners.. I don't have an HDMI receiver yet, so is it possible to use the HDMI port for video and still use the TOSLINK cable for audio? Hmm.. maybe my TV has an audio out cable.. gotta research that. Also, I assume that DVDs upscale over HDMI.. right?

Stranglehold was a bit better than I expected. I kept playing to unlock the spin move and Hard Boiled mode. I fear though that now there isn't much worth getting excited over in the real game. My favorite move was the first one where it slo-mos the bullet into the guy. Hard Boiled mode wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, granted I didn't beat it but I made it through a few checkpoints.
Still, this game was pretty damn fun and with no GTA on the horizon I'll most likely pick this up.

For people that went from Premium to Elite, did you notice ANY difference between Component vs HDMI? I believe I read it was minimal, if any, but having a 1080p TV makes me want to upgrade.
