Anyone sees me on there and wants to play, let me know. I've been getting my ass kicked online so if I lose to DVDTalker it won't hurt as much.

The thing that stresses me about this game (though I still like it), is the submissions are just off. In career mode I have a 92 level submission offense, BJJ LVL 3, and I have yet to get a single submission...flying armbar, north south choke, triangle choke, kneebar, nothing. And yes, I have waited till they are gassed and nearly dead.

Re: New Ultimate Fighting Championship game
I just picked this up as well and am enjoying it so far, got it at Best Buy with the free UFC DVD so I can find out who some of the fighters are that I am not as familiar with (grabbed Best of 2008).
Feel free to add me on the 360 as I also won quit on anyone if I am getting my ass handed to me.

Do you usually go for the sub by mashing buttons or rotating the RS?

Re: New Ultimate Fighting Championship game
I rotate RS, not as fast as I can, but as fast as I can while doing perfect circles. If I mess up the circles a lot, I lose the submission. I don't think I've ever mashed the face buttons to lock one on, just as desperation to get out of one.

Re: New Ultimate Fighting Championship game
I picked this up on Sunday after hearing so many good things about it and playing the shit out of the demo.
I've never really been huge into UFC so I don't get alot of the techniques. My main problem on this game is when I get to the ground, I can't for the life of me get up when they are on top. They just pound away and I can't do shit!! I've been working on my sparring and upgrading my skills and such. What would be the best one to upgrade for this particular perdicament? Also, I'm 15-6 in my career and I've came upon a fighter that really clinches me by the back of the head and just won't let go!!! I punch the hell out him but I'm losing big time. What's the best thing to do or upgrade to prevent this? For these do I need to upgrade my Ground Defense and Clinch Defense?? Those are what I've been working on. How about the takedowns from the clinch? I'm at like a 65 rating on the Clinch Grapple, but I can't seem to sling them down like I could on the demo? Do I need more power? I hope someone can give me some advice, I've looked on some other boards but to no avail.
Other than those things that are becoming irritating to me, I freaking love this game. I got up at 2am this morning and played this thing for 6 hours straight!!! I can't wait to enjoy this once I figure everything out.

There is no easy way to describe it, but once you get used to rotating the right stick, it becomes much easier.

Re: New Ultimate Fighting Championship game
I got it for the PS3 and i noticed during a fight i usually get like a 1-2 second hiccup, like its loading or something. Has anyone else experienced this? Not sure if this also occurs for the 360 version.

I have almost 100 fights in on-line on 360 and never had this happen.

Well, I'm 14-3 so far. I thought I was doing fairly well so I decided to take on a more difficult match. I'd beat Chris Leban and Nate Marquardt, so I decided to up the ante--and proceeded to get knocked out cold by Rich Franklin in under 90 seconds.
Is it better to work on training or sparring? So far I've been mixing both and, after learning the hard way, always try to go into a fight at 100% or very close.
I, too, suck on the ground. In my first loss (after 8 wins), the guy took me down right away, twisted me around, and submitted he pretty quickly. I guess I need more points on ground grappling and submission. I have very few on clinch and that seems fine.
I really like how it gets harder and harder (even sparring) as you go along.
Also, are people doing all the promos, etc. you get invited to? I did most but started skipping once I started losing to focus on training.

Re: New Ultimate Fighting Championship game
I'm loving the game but playing online has become tiresome and I'm only 5 fights in. It seems that what most people I've come across online tend to do is superman punches and flying knees. Every match except one has been me trying to fight it out and the other person simply backing up and flying forward with a knee or punch and repeat for the rest of the fight. I've yet to get one person online that wants to punch/kick it out with some clinch fighting and ground fighting.
Also I wish they would match you up with people that are closer to your level. I keep getting these level 50 + fighters online.
Gripe over, just gets old when you get online and all 5 fights you've been on consist of flying knees and punches and that is about it.

Send out FR and game with buddies.
I spent time with Unclegramps the other night playing 3 or 4 matches. We had no lag and they were great.

Online is fun as hell. One thing though...if you fight as a Heavyweight...90% of the time you will be fighting Brock Lesnar...good lord...

Glad he didn't take the money. Couldn't they just have animated him with a ponytail? I know he doesn't do it in real life but it's better then axing him from the game.
UFC 2009 Undisputed is, by all accounts, a pretty great fighting game. Realistic, too. But there's one thing missing from the game: renowned fighter Clay 'The Carpenter' Guida. And his giant hair.
Believe it or not, Guida - who has an enormous lion's mane stuck to his scalp - was apparently left out of the game due to technical concerns over his hair, which was causing major clipping and collision detection issues. Indeed, things apparently got so bad that THQ, the publishers of the game, offered him cash to cut his hair in real life, so they could trim his in-game model.
But Guida refused (good for him!), and so had to be left out of the game, because his character was borderline unplayable.

Yeah, I couldn't hear you I don't why it shows it but I don't have headphones or anything. Good fighting... even the first match felt like I should've won but you did and then the 2nd match you should've won but I did. But that's how it goes I guess.
