Finally some real gameplay footage and it looks amazing. However, the first Killzone looked equally amazing for its time but the game wasn't that good. I hope this one turns out well.

Sony has a lot of cleaning up to do. Let's hope for the best (or worst, if you're that kind of guy).
Admittedly, watching their train wreck last year WAS pretty amusing.

I want Sony to succeed because competition is good for everyone. I am glad they are getting humbled after some comments going into the PS3 launch.
My guess is they will show Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, and God of War (trailer but no game play), PSP Slim, and rumble in their controllers.

I just logged into Home for the first time in a while. There were 13 people online. I'm not sure how many were invited to the Beta but that's pretty weak.

Their big announcement is already out of the bag, but we'll see what else they have for us. It'll be interesting to see how much the price drop surged their sales #s.

Based on reports here and at CAG, I'd say the price drop is having a huge effect on the more hardcore gamers. Hard to say yet how it translates to the general population. The Amazon surge could likely just be from us gamers and not yet a reflection of J6P. It'll be interesting to see if $500 is still too rich for J6P...
It certainly motivated me to purchase one (along with Amazon's awesome offer). Though it also didn't help that my 360 died two weeks ago and I wanted something to fill the 360-in-the-shop voids. Getting a PS3 and knowing my HD-DVD source (360) is flakey is also going to cause me to start buying BluRay discs when both HD-DVD and BluRays are available.

No way. The Atari Lynx, as in Atari's handheld released in the late 80s to compete with the original Nintendo Gameboy? How could that possibly have sold more units on Amazon than the PS3 did?? How could the Lynx even possibly still be on the sales charts??

I would say it is still too much for J6P. $200-$300 has always been the "sweet spot". J6P hasn't really bought into the $400 360 yet either.
Does J6P even know the PS3 has dropped in price yet? I could not imagine J6P reads video game forums and websites, so it would take a little while longer for them to hear it via word of mouth, IMO.

Is it odd to anyone else that people are "jumping" at the PS3 for $499 when thats how much the 20GB was? Granted it was only around for a few months and fairly limited, but still... I assume the 360 Elite coming out blurred the pricing a bit and made a $499 PS3 more attractive again.

So that's my feeling on what's happening here.

I think also the fear that the EE is being removed soon is driving some sales. In my case, not having a PS2, this was another factor.

I think you can still buy joke books too. The "sarcasm detector" joke is ooold.
I thought he was joking, but I know that Amazon has a huge marketplace for used items, and I did not know if they mix sales of those items in with the sales of new items. I wouldn't have thought the market for used Lynxs would be huge, but crazier things have happened.
