Ok I caved.
I just got my PS3 a few days ago. My GF and I got into a disagreement about the availability of the 20gig model. I had explained to her that I called three locations and every one of them told me they were out of stock. With a bit more effort on her part she found me a 20gig. So after trading in my PS2, a handful of games, PSP, and DS I now own a PS3. Why the 20gig? Well because 1) Im cheap and 2) It's still a PS3 with an emotion engine.

2) The Emotion Engine is STILL in the 60GIG models, just not the new 80GIG, from my understanding (unless you are overseas). |

And so is flOw, if anyone is interested in that game. I want SuperStardust as well, but I'll wait with the hope it is $7.99 in the near future. $2 isn't a big deal, but it seems the prices fluctuate enough that it is worth the wait... |
What is the best way to go on DVD upscaling for a 1080i tv. I tried double scale and the picture got pillarboxed. I'm not sure if that is normal or not.

Apparently the demo for Heavenly Sword is being released this week.....for Europe at least. From IGN
UK, July 23, 2007 - Get ready to make a date with blade-wielding, red-headed warrior Nariko this week as Ninja Theory's long-awaited Heavenly Sword demo is set to arrive for download via PlayStation Network on Thursday, July 26. According to Sony, the demo is the same as that shown during Sony's Gamer Day earlier this year. So, expect to guide Nariko across some dangerously high ropes in a QTE-style manner before diving into a series of vicious scraps atop a crumbling precipice and elsewhere. The demo should give you a taste of Heavenly Sword's genuinely stunning visuals, as well as some hands-on time with the game's impressive combat system. This bite-sized chunk of Heavenly Sword should hit other territories around the same time as Europe, according to Sony. |

Can anyone give me any ideas on Network Sharing. This is my desktop setup.
I have my main drive, sharing My Pictures and these work just fine, I can pull them up, no big deal. However, I also have an EXTERNAL HDD connected to my PC with ALL my music on it. It's about 200gigs full and everytime I try to access the music, I get a time out error or just that it cannot connect. The folder structure is MUSIC -> Genre -> Artist -> CD Title. I tried it without the MUSIC directory, just genre's, and still no go. Does the PS3 just have a hard time with TOO much music (files)? I know this works perfectly on my 360 and on another laptop using Media Sharing. Any ideas? |

Try it with a hard wired network connection and see what happens. Also try Twonky for file sharing. |

I heard that Lair's demo will not out until the game is out... Anyhow, thanks to posts from CAG, i pre-ordered Lair for $42 shipped from overstock.com. |
I wonder what the thinking is there? Instant gratification? I want this game now?

I always laugh when they release demos at the same time as the actual game or even worse after.
The whole point of an early demo release is to hype people up for the game. Why put out a demo afterwards or at the same time? |

I cannot believe I'm asking this, but... assuming anyone actually purchased Super Rub-a-Dub, what are your thoughts of the full version? Does it hold up, relative to te demo? My GF loved the demo and I guess I'll purchase it for her, barring any serious issues with the full version.
This is a prime example of how demos can work in Sony's favor. No way I would have even thought of purchasing this game without a demo. But the GF really seems to love it. So... |
I deleted the demo shortly after trying it. Although the reviews all are pretty bad, the game didn't see too terrible and had good use of the motion control of the sixaxis. I have no experience with it other than the demo though.

i agree... the control is not all that bad, i actually like the game. The kids love the demo! I will get this game if it goes on sale... |
Oh, the $40 Lair deal is dead... Lucky me, ordered it just in time :)
as for demo after the game release logic, i don't understand it too, but heck, $40 for a new release justified my purchase. |
When placing music, video, and picture files on a memory stick for viewing on a PS3. do they have to go into folders that the PS3 will recognize? I have pics (jpeg, vids (mpg, wmv), and music (mp3, wma) on the card now, all in the root directory, but it doesn't recognize anything.
|
You can try PS3 -> MUSIC -> Sub folders here if you want (or just music in one big group).
PS3 -> PHOTOS I think is the other format. That is how the PSP works. I may do that if I cannot get my Streaming to work for Music. My next step is an internal HDD on my PC, we'll see. |
