nice showing at E3 by Sony. I can't wait to play Killzone 2.

I have a Linksys wirelss-g, not a problem so far... Only problem is the setup, but that's b/c the damn router's FW is outdated (wtf? outdated when you first purchase it? Anyhow, give the 800 # a call and you're all set).

I am considering a PS3. As a non-hard core gamer, what are a few essential games to pick up with the system?

Elder Scrolls looks good. Any comments/suggestions?

Motorstorm is great, as is resistance. Both have 100% free online gaming as well. Check out a lot of the Playstation Network games online, there are some great casual games to check out on there.

Thanks for the info. Do I need to pay to play those casual online games? I know basic PS3 online access is free, just curious if you need to pay for certain content/games.

Every game is 100% free online gaming on the ps3. The PSN games like Super Rub A Dub, Calling All Cars, etc are cheap games (3-10 bux depending on the game) and you can play them online free forever. You can also compete with online leaderboards as well. Its excellent stuff.

The only three games you need for the PS3 are Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Oblivion.

And Super Stardust. I can't get enough of that game.

I'm guessing that's a PSN game?

As a non-hard core gamer, the free downloadable demos should be enough, there are enough to keep you busy for quite some time.

If you are a baseball fan, MLB 07 should keep you busy. I've been renting it for weeks (a lot of free Blockbuster rentals I've had). The game is great....best baseball game this year.

Also, not all the PSN games have demos, which is REALLY annoying (IMO).

as for the E3 showing....where are the demos? The 360 gets a bunch, PS3 gets none.....only Nucleus.

Yup. Made by the people who did Geometry Wars. It's similar but better IMO.

I could have sworn they were done by the same group. They play the same too. Either way I like SS better mostly thanks to the co-op mode. Plus, since you're moving around on a sphere, you never get cornered.

Does Sony offer any sort of extended warranty for the PS3? My PS3 is on its way from Amazon and I'd like to get some sort of extra warranty.

I know there is no widespread problem, but after my recent 360 issues, I'd still like the extra piece of mind.

mbs, save your self some cash, you don't need to worry about it...

just DL'd Stardust HD, two thumbs up for $8.46 (tax)!

Also DL'd the E3 trailers... MGS4... the ninja battle was really something... worldwide release early 2008, sounds good, really good...

I'd also recommend Calling All Cars on the PSN. It's a great multi-player game. Well worth the $10.

How is the single player?

Aside from Super Stardust HD and Calling All Cars, what are some of the other highly recommended PSN games?

I dunno, at this point I'm waiting for a price drop on Resistance...

edit: just saw it's 39.99 as Amazon's DOTD. I guess I'll bite for that price...

flOw. Very unique and relaxing, and a great demonstration of the motion control abilities of the controller. Well worth the $7.99.

The single player in Calling All Cars is fun and fluid, but gets a little repetitive. Multiplayer is the selling point with that title.

I enjoyed this game and my Wife played it to death. Should could string together some pretty long and strange creations.

My favorite is Stardust. Well, well worth the $7.99.

Was $7.99 a promotional price? It shows up as $9.99 when I check the PS store.
