some of the crazy volleys are pretty fast-paced, sure.

i think the wiimote could keep up, but hopefully they'll wait to release it until they really perfected the controls

The fast play would definitely make for a great mini workout on the Wii. I've only played my 360 copy a few times. The difficulty just gets insanely hard so quick. Hopefully they tweak it for the Wii version.

Yes the Wii Remote is plenty fast and accurate!

At interpreting IR signals and "pointing", sure. But what about this version of Table Tennis that will rely on the accelerometers and fast-paced, no-room-for-mistakes action? It may be fine and I love the Wii, but I'm not afraid to ask the question.

i think they'll probably do it in the form of timing, as opposed to how hard you actually wing the wiimote around.

I agree, I don't think they could make it as accurate as we would like it.

I should of dished out the advice I gave to all my friends around here when they bought the Wii. Instead of spending 50.00 on a game.....just spend 20.00 on a rental program for a month. I hardly buy anything anymore and while I sometime feel like I have a smaller selection of games to play I also have to remember that with just renting I have more pocket change to actually go buy a game if I enjoyed it,

I've also picked up OoT, but haven't played a whole lot of it yet. I still need to finish TP and I also have a copy of WW.

I passed on MK64. I have Mario Kart on the DS. Didn't want to spend $10 on an old N64 version. I'll probably get Mario Kart Wii when it comes out.

Starfox just didn't look like it aged well, so I didn't bother.

I'm fairly positive I will be buying Paper Mario. The graphics actually look pretty amazing for a N64 game -- I guess cause it's mostly 2D.
Well mario 64 was a big leap when it came out, now its pretty simple, paper mario is still awesome and better then super paper mario.

Renting has worked out nice for me too. I've played a lot of games I wanted to check out but didn't want to spend $50 on. A few I want to buy when their prices come down.

Mario 64 was very influential, to the point that there's very little in that game that hasn't been done again and again in 3D platformers since. As such, it doesn't hold up too well (although it's still a great game, and was my first VC purchase).

Paper Mario on the other hand hasn't been copied a lot (sequels aside), so the gameplay feels fresh. It came late in the N64's cycle, and was passed over by a lot of gamers. Plus, the visual style is more timeless than Mario 64, and feels less dated.

Personally I disagree. I didn't like Paper Mario at first, but got into it a little after the first world.

I would like to see Super Mario RPG show up.

The desire to be an RPG-hybrid really brought down the platforming aspect of SPM, in my opinion.

Saw my first Wii on a shelf today. Had to stop at Target to run an errand before work and wandered by. They had one in the case right next to the sign that said they were out of stock

Unfortunately I couldn't swing the purchase this week. I'll probably end up ordering an online bundle a few months from now (hopefully I'll be able to find one.)

Anyway, it was cool to actually see one in the wild.

Nope, no noise out of my Wii at all, but then again, it's next to my 360 which is about as loud as an industrial air compressor...

Same here, my Wii is super quiet. Has it given you any other problems?

If I don't typically like turn-based RPG games, but I did enjoy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga a little bit, would Paper Mario for N64 be something that I should look into? I've never played that game before.

And on a side note, I just recently bought RE4 for the Wii, and just like Twilight Princess for the Wii totally changed the way I look at games like that, to the point where I will find it hard to ever play a Zelda type game without the Wii controls, the Wii has changed the way I look at games like RE4. I much prefer the controls, and I doubt I'll ever want to go back.

I have a feeling that over the life of the Wii, or even just through the rest of this year, I'm going to start feeling that way about more and more games.

I recently played Paper Mario on N64 and it was one of the best games I've played in a while. The Gamecube one is also great. It's turn based rather than action style, if it matters.

I think you'd like it if you liked Superstar Saga, it's a much more simplified style of RPG.

My brother was checking out my setup over the weekend. He comes over to game from time to time, but never pays attention to the actual setup. Anyway, he got a good laugh, and let out a "holy crap" or "jesus christ" type comment of astonishment out of how small the Wii is sitting next to the 360.

No noise from mine either. Then again I haven't turned it on in a couple weeks so I could be wrong, but I've never noticed it before.
