No online in SSG2: http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3160845
They have new modes, and the Tour Mode sounds alright, but I doubt it'll be enough to get me to jump on this title until I can get it for $20 or less. I had a blast with the first one, but I just can't imagine there'll be enough different to justify it without online play, honestly.
1UP: Do you plan -- or has Nintendo even shared the programming tools necessary -- to include online play?
KS: There will be no online play for this game. We're focusing on the new party mode and tour mode to enhance the play experience.

I would highly recommend to real fans of the books and/or movies, probably just a rental for curiosities sake if not.

VC Update for 7/9:
Mach Rider® (NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): It's the year 2112. Earth has been invaded by the forces of evil. Battle the invaders as you race from sector to sector on your motorcycle, searching for survivors. Feel the incredible sense of speed as you zip past evil Quadrunners and zigzag between treacherous rocks, oil spills and other obstacles on the course. For a different challenge, create your own course in Design Mode, using the various twists, turns and straightaways the game has to offer. Remember, you are Earth's only hope—you are Mach Rider.
Yoshi® (NES, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Yoshi is an action/puzzle game starring Mario's dinosaur buddy, Yoshi™, who has been imprisoned in an egg. Now it's raining Goombas, Bloopers and Boo Buddies, and you have to help Mario™ stop the airborne invasion. As the critters fall, catch them on trays. Stack two of a kind and they both disappear, or capture the whole bunch in between eggshells. When the eggshells match, out hatches Yoshi and up goes your score. The action heats up as the characters fall faster and faster. To save the day, switch and shuffle, and don't let your piles get too high.
Air "Zonk" (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Mild Cartoon Violence, 600 Wii Points): Air "Zonk" is a spin-off of the popular Bonk's Adventure series. This side-scrolling shooter retains the same cartoonish style of Bonk but is set in a cyberpunk future. The powered-up "Zonk" gathers his friends to form Team Cool, and they set out to stop King Drool's plan to conquer the world. Choose from three levels of difficulty and three Friend Modes. Shoot King Drool's cyber-robots and avoid their attacks while collecting the Air Bones to unleash a variety of unique attacks. Combine with a friend to create an invincible hybrid form or blast enemies with a charged attack. Air "Zonk" is filled with humor, made evident by the wacky theme song that plays when you post a huge score or when your game is over.

They need to calm down on the shooters (yeah I know, it's strange for me to say that) on the TG16 and tap into its other assets. Let's see Neutopia I and II on there, let's see Parasol Stars and Cadash, let's see some more Japanese only releases. The US TG16 library is so small (~90 games, not coutning CDs).. they're going to run out of decent titles to release soon, I think.

Seriously, did we really need Mach Rider? I wasn't that enamored of it even back in the NES days. I want the original Pilot Wings, Super Punchout!, and a host of others I can't even think about at the moment.

Would that require making a deal with Vic?

I have been mildly disappointed at some of the VC offerings. I'm sure more things will start to pick up, but there's just a ton of great games out there that would make great additions to the VC lineup that just aren't there ... yet.

I get the feeling that Nintendo is really trying to space out their "big" titles so they don't end up putting out all of the classics too soon. I would really love to get my hands on Super Metroid and Super Punch Out!, but I'm not expecting to see them anytime soon.
I did pick up Super Mario 2 last week because it had always been a favorite from my childhood. A lot of fond memories with SM2. (Even though I only recently discovered it wasn't a Mario game to begin with.) I impressed myself by actually remembering where a couple of the warp zones were! World 6 seems hard as hell though. It's the one where it has those really fast patches of quicksand in the desert and you have to hammer on the jump button to avoid getting sucked under! I find myself playing way more VC games than actual Wii games. Anyone else simply enjoying the Wii for the VC?

As of right now I want Kid Icarus, Super Mario World, and the original F-Zero... I am patiently waiting for Blaster Master.

a question...does anyone else's Wii take forever to do certain things? I just turned mine on and went to the store. the screen goes black and stays this way for around 5min. before anything comes up. its the same thing when I go to the Mii channel.

Bozon, I think, over at IGN claims his system gets slower the more VC games you have downloaded.
