well, if you want to continue to say what metroid is...

then you should really keep it in the realm of 2d. Once it went 3d, all bets were off

Just to clarify something...according to the article, they didn't remove anything. Multiplayer was never in there to begin with.

You're right. I was pissed that Mario 64 didn't have any Peach on Daisy Hentai

Well, I'll likely be waiting on MP3's price to drop. Multi-player, IMO, adds longevity to a title (especially FPS's). You can still have a great single player experience and a good multi-player to complement it.

I am getting more and more disappointed in Nintendo's continued lack of online playable title.

agreed

FPS without multiplayer don't interest me at all. You beat them, and that's that. Might as well rent the damn thing instead

If I want multiplayer action, Metroid Prime games are not where I'm going to look, so the lack of a multiplayer mode in MP3 doesn't bother me at all. Just give me a nice deep single player experience and I'll be happy.

Huh? Really? I must really suck then, because I could never kill the final boss in Metroid Prime, and some of the bosses in Echoes were pretty damn tough too. Tough enough to stop me half way through. Never did get to the see the end of that

Hell, I couldn't beat the original Metroid without looking up a map online. Super Metroid was relatively easy, but the Metroid Prime games have had satisfying difficulty levels - tough but rarely frustrating.

Wow, if you're the kind of guy who will beat MP in 2 sittings, then yeah, obviously you should just rent MP3.

Two sittings? How long were your sittings, 10 hours?

2-4 based on his earlier assessment of required completion time.

2 2-4 hour sittings would put him at 4-8 hours of play time. Since we know he only plays through them once as single-player has no replay value, the 4-8 hour assertion is not based on a speed run or experienced play-through. The games are easy, only take 4-8 hours to complete and therefore 2 sittings must average 2-4 hours each.

I say there is no way either MP game is under 10 hours. The only way I can see it is a speed run by someone who has played the game numerous times, knows exactly where to go and doesn't scan a anything in the game.

Just a quick google search reveals perfect speed runs taking over an hour. Add in scanning, exploring, trial and error on bosses, dying and backtracking, actually finding most of the items, etc. and 4-8 hours just doesn't seem right for a first time through the game.

Sorry kurrpt,

This is the best response out there.

For me Metroid is a game all about isolation. It's just you. A bounty hunter with a mission.

I agree, complaining about no multi in Metroid is just as retarded as complaining about the lack of multi in Zelda. Every game does not need multi-player. Just as Pixy stated, there are many great single player games that have absolutely no multi-player. Metroid is definitely one of those games and I'm hyped up for this.

I can't wait for MP3, and I don't give a fuck whether or not it's multiplayer.

if you compare that to amount of game play possible with online multiplayer, well, it's not even close
15 hours of solid gameplay isn't enough for you? i know i don't like playing any game that lasts longer than 15-20 hours, AT MOST...

Speaking of multiplayer games, anyone know of any good ones on the Wii that offer a cop-op experience? Something like the RE series seems like it would be perfect for this...

IF
it has at least 15 hours of solid gameplay I might be able to overlook no multiplayer. But, the recent trend in FPS's is much less than that. While some may not care about multiplayer, a lot of people do and look at it as added value to a game.

I just finished Gears of War and it was too short. Great experience, but without the multiplayer component I could't justify spending $60.

I think even more than not having multiplayer, my biggest concern is that so little info has been released on the control scheme. I have no idea why none of the FPS's on the Wii haven't ditched the stupid bounding boxes and just center the aiming cursor and have the Wii-mote act like mouse-look.

RE4 was a step in the right direction. I sure hope MP3 delivers in the control area ( I HATED the controls for MP1 and MP2).
