Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Is anyone looking forward to this?

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...662&adid=17662

I rented the GC version and was terrible at it so I am dubious. But I got it for $18.99 with $10 off from Google Checkout at buy.com so I'm going to give it a try. It seems like it might be a bit easier to play using the remote and nunchuk.

Thoughts?

I haven't played RE4, but this gives me the perfect excuse to do so. There's no way I'd pay the full 50.00, but if they discounted the game, I'd pick it up

Supposedly it includes extra missions that were only available in the PS2 version.

It's not a $50 game. The MSRP is $30 for this one, which makes it a no-brainer for me (I haven't played any of the other versions).

I just beat this on the GC this month, so I'll be passing. Didn't like it enough to ever replay it.

Would have waited for this if I new it was coming as the controls might be much better (at least the aiming should be anyway).

The extra missions are not part of the main game. It is a side story that explains what Ada was doing while she wasn't around in the main game.

If this comes out and gets rave reviews, the controls work superbly, the new content kicks ass, etc, it may convince me to buy a Wii.

But for some reason, I'm expecting this game to be a bit of a disappointment on the Wii, at least compared to the original on GC. I hope I'm wrong.

Well, Famitsu gave it a 9.5:

"Judging by the scores, the Wii could have a critical hit. Two editors awarded the game a perfect 10 out of 10. The other two were still impressed enough to award a score of 9.

The reviewers noted that while the content is almost the same as the GameCube original, the direct Wiimote-based controls offer a plus, making the game feel like something fresh and different. One reviewer said that the game offers the feeling of being closer to the action as well as upping the tension."

I already beat the GC version and the PS2 version, including the side missions.

I might pick it up eventually as I own all the other RE games, though I'd rather have a new game instead of a 3rd time rehash.

I definitely want to play through this again as I beat the GC version a few times. Of course now I might be a bit more of a pansy since my last couple times have been with really awesome weapons.

I will probably pick this up if I see it for $15 or less. But is it just me or are Wii games taking longer to drop in price? Maybe that is because of the lack of newer games. I wish there was a way to transfer your GC save to the Wii.

I have the GC version and briefly had the PS2 version, but the graphics were so shitty I resold it. I will be getting this.

Seems to me Nintendo games always take longer to drop in price.

Capcom has stated that the game will support true 16:9 widescreen. Plus all the extra PS2 content has been redone using the GC engine so the graphics will look even better!

Yes I can't wait to buy this game next month!

I really loves this game on GC but never play side mission on PS2. Oh well, i'll pickup Wii version whenever i get my hand on Wii. Also, Resident Evil: Shooting game coming soon

Smart move for Capcom put MSRP down $30 instead $50.

I'll probably pick this up after checking out a few reviews. I never got the GC version and don't have a PS2, so this one sounds perfect for me. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it, but unless something goes horribly wrong this will have to be the best version out there of RE4.

Just realized the GCN version isn't anamorphic. I picked it up used, haven't played it yet. Might be worth dumping just to have the anamorphic version.
