Anyone else notice that Live was kinda messed up this weekend? It's a bit better now but I know Lost Planet was kinda jacked up and I hear GOW and R6:Vegas online were giving people problems too.

I couldn't get into the marketplace, either. Haven't tried today yet.

Live froze on me two or three times yesterday but figured it was just my 360 acting up.

And Robo, when are we gonna play some GOW multi w/the new maps?

Well, chalk me up to one with a broken 360 as well. I was playing Oblivion and my console started shuttering from the momentum of the DVD drive. I managed to save and shut it down, but not the drive will not spin at all. Manufacture date was 7-4-2006. Thankfully, I can still play XBLA games till the shipping crate gets here, so time for Catan it is.

I had a number of issues playing Vegas with some friends last night. Them prepping the system for the update this coming week must be the cause.

So when is this spring cleaning update happening again? I thought it was going to be May 3, but I haven't noticed an update.

The week of May 7th. So something could happen as early as tomorrow.

my 360 ate my fucking Gears of War disc, which is terrible timing considering I was hosting an 8 player match and really starting to get into these new maps

Are you saying your 360 scratched the disc and thus is now unreadable? I've heard about this happening but I just don't see how its possible. Has the mechanism that drives the laser back and forth out of alignment?

yes, thats precisely what happened.

as far as I knew, you would have to physically move the 360 in order for that to happen. In my situation, its not even possible for me to move the unit, considering where I have it.

Isn't GOW is on the scratched disc replacement list?

I just moved, and hooked up my 360 to my SDTV (it was in my gf's apartment on her flat panel widescreen TV). Man, does it look squished now.

So how's this new dashboard update (is it even available yet)?

And did it fix the issues with the HDdvd drive?

yea, I suppose it would be interesting to hear what they have to say. I suppose it would be worth getting another copy for 20 bucks, if only to sell one of the copies

If your system ate your disc one time don't you think it will do it again? It might be worth calling microsoft about getting the system serviced or replaced.
