Well, I decided to play Frogger since it was mentioned a couple pages back. I haven't played it in awhile, so when I loaded the game, it said there was an update available. But when I selected Update Now, it said the update couldn't be found. Does this happen with anyone else?

Michael Corvin 05-24-07 02:57 PM

You don't want that update anyway. There was a glitch that allowed you to have 7 frogs and still get achievements(or something to that extent). They fixed it so that if you changed the default settings you can't earn achievements.

eatntae 05-24-07 03:24 PM

I already got all the Frogger achievements :p

If I don't/can't update, doesn't that mean I wouldn't be able to play co-op (not that I plan to, but you never know) or upload high scores?

Michael Corvin 05-24-07 05:11 PM

high scores - yes. Not sure about co-op.

I'm a huge 360 fan but that article nails it. I'm really enjoying my system but it's sad that the Red Ring of Death is always on one's mind while playing or turning the system on. :(

MS, get you shit together. :grunt:

of course I am, I didn't get a friend request from you though yet. :(

That Mad Tracks game looks pretty good. I've been waiting, though, for something along the lines of a new school RC Pro Am.

Michael Corvin 05-24-07 08:33 PM

fuck. I turned my system on tonight and no sound. :(

Hopefully it is just the optical cable.

KurrptSenate 05-25-07 07:34 AM

This year?

Chris

KurrptSenate 05-25-07 10:22 AM

yea, I'd say Jan 2nd, 2007

which is almost exact, I believe. I think it was the day after I had to go back to work (New Years)

If you haven't voted yet.. Please do..

Poll: Have you had to send your 360 in for service?

Only 75 votes and I know there is A LOT of members on here that have a 360. Just want to see how many here have had problems / not had any.

Word

i didn't have the ring of death, but the video output crapped out on me.
Was getting a very dark blurred and shaky picture.
There are other ways for the 360 to fail besides the "ring of death".

Save Ferris 05-25-07 11:15 AM

should I feel like a bad consumer for not caring if I get red rings? Its all coming out of Microsofts pocket to fix.

Tell that to the people paying $120 to get theirs fixed. ;)

They should have gotten the extended warranty for half that price. ;)

Sure people that bought one at launch couldn't have predicted how problematic the 360 would turn out to be. Anyone that has bought a 360 within the last year or so should have enough sense to buy the extended warranty. The 360 and extended warranty go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Save Ferris 05-25-07 11:56 AM

It just makes me more glad that i got the warranty.

after owning the original Xbox for years and never having one single issue I figured the 360 would have been built the same way. boy was I wrong.

If the system is so problematic that a horseshit extended warranty is practically required, that's more like them going together like peanut butter and mayonnaise.

Michael Ballack 05-25-07 12:34 PM

I got the extended warranty. I'm covered for enough red rings till 2009. :nopanic:

 I had the original Xbox die on me so I knew to buy the 360 warranty.

Extended Warranties on crappy products are just throwing good money after bad. How many people have had to repeatedly return their 360's? The extended warranty doesn't cover the inconvenience and aggravation with having to return the defective units.

My launch-day 360 has been working fine. But if I get the ring of death, I will most likely NOT get it repaired and hold off buying a new one until the quality improves. I have this impression that quality has DECREASED since the initial launch....not improved.

You don't feel bad if your 360 dies because your new girlfriend only lets you play it once a month.. ;)

For us that play it nightly it blows hard.

I won't get my coffin until Tuesday (called this past Sunday). Then it will take 3-5 to get to them.. 5-7 to get it back.. All together prolly a month without it..

This sucks!

KurrptSenate 05-25-07 01:26 PM

also the fact you're left without for weeks at a time, only to get a system someone else took a dump on
