Yea, haven't had any issues with my Wii standing up. We've been playing that most of the time lately as well

From dealnews: Today only, Amazon.com offers Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for Xbox 360 for $36.99 with free shipping.

The only consoles I have standing up are the Wii and the PS2.

With the Wii, it really feels like it was meant to stand up. The design asks for it, with the slot loading drive, and it comes with the stand free.

The PS2 got stood up just because my little girl kept pulling it off the audio rack - it is just too light. So I stood it up next to the Wii using the stand but I don't actually like it that way. Just a space/child constraint.

BTW: I think achievements are dumb too. I guess I'd rather move onto another game or do something else rather than run missions over and over again or scrounge around for dogtags or whatever. BORING. They're interesting for arcade titles, though, that only have high-score as something to do otherwise (like Geometry Wars or Ms Pac-man).

For that matter I've abandoned RPG completionism ever since I walked/snoozed through FFX (I whacked the end guy in under a minute and I didn't even level grind).

The Wii is the only system I ever felt comfortable standing on its side. I guess I feel better because of the size, price and the little stand they include. I could never see putting a pricey unit on it's side like that and I don't even have kids to deal with.

Yeah, the Wii is specifically designed to stand on its side. It's that way in demo kiosks, has the slot loading tray for that, comes with the stand included etc.

It should be perfectly fine that way.
