Last night I was surprised to see that the game spawned an enemy right on top of me at the beginning of the match. Then I realized how small the map is. It's constant kills and I died 54 times. Airstrikes wipe out most of the other team. At first I thought, "this sucks" but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Finished SP today. So awesome! I wish it was a little bit longer, but there's a lot of greatness to go back and replay on Veteran and such...

We were using DVDT as our clan tag during the beta.

Is it just me or is Veteran much simplier this go around?

I've completed 7 levels with 10 to go and only 2 sections were slightly frustrating. They used the same push-forward checkpoint system as Call of Duty 2 accept it's vastly easier with flashbangs.

So many awesome moments in this game... Two of my favorites are...

Spoiler:

1) Near death in the city after the nuclear bomb goes off. Very eerie...and just pulled off amazingly well.
2) Getting attacked by dogs and reaching up and snapping their necks. Now THAT is badass...

I am getting the downloading game settings message as is my stepdad. The Activision board has a solution that basically claims it's your router

Looks like no CoD 4 online for me tonight.

Damn...I wish I could get into the COD games, since it seems everyone's moved on from Halo 3 to this. I've just never liked them.

This one is different from previous CoD games. It's like Call of Rainbow Six.

Anyway, all is right again. I took my COD4 back to CC since they didn't have COD3 and didn't offer me a rain check. Then I promptly headed to Best Buy with CC ad in hand and asked if they would match it and after the Customer Service guy asked around a bit they said yes so I got COD4 and the free COD3.

I haven't fired it up yet but that sounds like a good thing.

I don't think it's bog. Isn't bog the one with a couple of buildings and a bog (imagine that) in the middle? Kinda like a junkyard in a bog?

That one is easily 4 times bigger than this one. But maybe I'm just confused and this tiny map is bog.

Me and Martin were using "VGt", and now it seems a bunch of the guys are using it, so I would say its the one we're using.

I tried going through that for about an hour on Veteran to no avail. I don't even think it's possible with the time limit they give you. Maybe flash, run in, shoot and run, flash, shoot and run...

From Charlieoscardelta:

"Cheating or players attempting to cheat will not be tolerated.

We are constantly tracking game performance and are instantly sent an alert when a player is attempting to lag players out or cheat in any other manner which lowers the gaming experiencing for the community as a whole.

Attempting to lag players will result in an immediate Host-ban, preventing you from ever hosting a game in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare again. Extreme offenses or even repeated offensives will result in your MP privileges and access being revoked and all cheaters or attempted cheats will be immediately reported to Microsoft with the highest suggestion that your Xbox Live service be suspended.

In addition, cases where cheating was used to gain rank / position on the leaderboards will be addressed by your rank / leaderboard position being erased.

Trust me, if there is any other way that we can punish cheaters, we will not hesitate to take it.

Plain and simple. You cheat, or even attempt to cheat and ruin the gaming experience for the rest of the community you will be punished.

You have been warned."

Guys, this may be the reason why we were complaining about lag yesterday, and getting killed in the process. The cheater makes everyone else lag (through the standby button lag exploit), but he doesn't lag at all. Tbird, this could be why you saw someone with 43 kills in a row in the leaderboard (Or maybe he is that good, but after all this, who knows anymore...)

For those who have questions about Prestige Mode: (not available in the PC version)

- Unlocked after level 55.
- Your level is reset back to Private (level 1).
- You loose everything (guns, perks, challenges, etc).

So what do you get in return? Just a new medal next to your name, that's it (and bragging rights I guess). However it's easier to rank up the second time around (it can be done 10 times. You get a different medal each time).

Here are the medals for all the 10 levels:

It sounds like everyone here has either the XBOX or PS3 versions. I would like to play with some members here, but I have the PC version.

I have to get used to these smaller maps. I'm more used to playing BF2 sized maps.

So how does COD 4 veteran setting compare to COD 2 Veteran? My copy should get here sometime next week and I'm thinking about playing it on Veteran. I really felt a sense of accomplishment beating COD 2 on veteran.
