Just picked this up and am lovin' it. The graphics are significantly better than COD2 or 3, and the weapons seem better too. Haven't tried online yet though I checked it out and see just the two options. Is that how it works this time--I need to unlock more games by playing?

Even though I got the game on Monday, and have played every day, I'm only on level 7 on the multi-player, I guess, because I have self control (and a life ), and I don't play for more than an hour at a time - I go up one or two levels and it's time to pack it in.
I guess this game's addictiveness would explain why there are so many people at around level 50 already.

Though once you get the red-dot scope for your gun, you're on a much more even playing-ground with everyone else.

Ditto... that said, if the wife would let me, I'd stay up until 2am to get leveled up high enough to open some of the cooler match types.

That was definitely my experience during the beta, too.

I just wish you could have more than one attachment. I want the red dot plus the grenade launcher.

Just bought the game

Anyone interested in joining a newbie in a multiplayer game?
Do we have a group setup here that play together?

Made it to level 21 today. My eyes, fingers and reflexes needed a break after that. The perks add so much to this game. The Slight of Hand perk kicks all kinds of ass and should make some of the weapons I hated using a bit easier.

You can pick rocket launchers as a perk, and that's sorta like having two attachments.

Yeah but you can't bounce a rocket around a corner like you can with the nade launcher.

Well, if you're not too far, you can just throw a grenade to do that.

Actually my favorite thing to do is to kill someone with the nade launcher without the nade even going off.

Awesome game. I usually play primarily single-player and only play online here and there. But I've barely touched the single-player campaign. The gameplay and leveling aspect of online play is very addictive. I pretty much suck, but it's still a blast.

Thanks for the invites the last couple of night (miyu and someone else). I was in the middle of a game and didn't want to bail though. That reminds me, my friends list is almost full. I guess I need to do some cleaning.

Anyway, great game.

Played multiplayer for the first time tonight and WOW...very impressed so far. I definitely preferred Team deathmatch than free for all (but that was probably due to me being so green).

The maps are nice and I played at least 6 to 8 games tonight and never played the same map. The graphics are outstanding. Could this be a Halo killer (for me)? It is really that good (with what little play time I have had).

Sigh...

Spent way too much money on furniture last weekend, and I have a big project due at work next Tuesday that I've barely even started. And what do I do?

Bought COD4 yesterday and took today off to play it.

It's all about priorities...

I really like most of the maps for COD4. And I believe there are 16 maps right? It is fun, but people are getting really good at sniping!!

Don't worry, you level up really fast in the beginning.

Well I just picked up the game today and wanted to ask; should I do the single play mode first, do coop or jump right in MP? I'm way behind playing at all since work has been just hectic (some have been working 21 straight days). I'll pop the game in about 7 central so if anyone needs a "Grunt" to kick around well.......

You can play the single player and then jump in MP whenever. I played 2 hours of MP before I even touch the campaign.

Have you guys played on that tiny map with the storage crates everywhere? I can't remember the name.

Last night I was surprised to see that the game spawned an enemy right on top of me at the beginning of the match. Then I realized how small the map is. It's constant kills and I died 54 times. Airstrikes wipe out most of the other team. At first I thought, "this sucks" but it turned out to be a lot of fun.
