CircuitCity.com just restocked on their website, so order both CODs now before it runs out.

I think I'm picking up my copy today!

Probably won't be able to play until tomorrow or weekend.

Impressions from those who have both: Halo 3 or COD4? Or is it too early to tell?

CoD4 is fantastic. Best game I've ever played. It blows Halo3 out of the water IMO... but I've never been a huge Halo fan either. Multiplayer was a blast - especially when you go on a short killing spree and can call in specials like a helicopter to blow the shit out of your enemy or a radar screen to show you exactly where your enemy is hiding.

Guys, please add me to your friends list - this game blows all other MP out of the water. We'll have a blast!

Awesome single game so far. I also love the mutliple "Aliens" references in the game.

That's a loaded question as you are going to get 2 sets of answers.

1) Halo 3 is the superior game, COD4 is nothing special.
2) COD4 is the superior game, Halo 3 is nothing special.

I enjoy both games as they are different enough to have positive qualities for each and be enjoyable.

That is a tough question. To be honest Halo has always had my loyalty.

CoD4 is most likely going to be sharing my gaming time 50/50 with Halo which is far and above what i expected. Sitting at work today i was missing playing CoD4 - not Halo.

You can't go wrong with either game though. Halo 3 has customization options far beyond what CoD4 does.

I echo miyus post, that is what mine should have said.

Halo is always my go to game. But I really enjoyed COD4. Its multiplayer is superior to COD3 and COD2 which I never cared for.

I see COD4 in stock, but not the bundle. Speaking of the CC bundle, their site now shows the original edition and not the gold one in the picture.

Halo has always been my main game as well. So the fact that i'm going to try to split my time 50/50 with CoD4 is a huge concession. For those that don't know me, i'm a big ol' Halo nerd. I have read the graphic novel, the comic, the novels, and i followed the ilovebees ARG during the release of Halo 2. I obsess over the storyline and spend a sad amount of time discussing strategy.

CoD4 is that damn good i'm willing to set all that aside for a good bit.

So I called the CC and asked about the stores in the area not giving rainchecks and the guy admitted he thought it was weird when he asked his manager and he said no rainchecks on the deal. Apparently they've been getting lots of complaints.

Either way it still sounds like I'm SOL so I'm just going to take it back and get a refund. I'm having fun with Jericho and Conan so whatever...

I, admittedly, have only played COD2 (at least in regards to the COD series). However, I do quite enjoy the Halo series, as well as other first-person shooters.

That having been said, is the aiming style in the same vein as COD2? For me, that was the largest aspect of the game that I did not enjoy. There was just something that felt off about it, at least when I compared it against other styles of shooters I'd played prior.

Well, to really aim properly, you have to pull the left trigger to look down the sight. Otherwise, you'd be lucky if you hit the side of a barn.

invisiblegt, COD2 is all about campaign mode. Multiplayer sucks. COD3 is the exact opposite. COD4 has by far the best multiplayer of the three.

Just finished it on regular. The last few levels were like something out of a Rambo movie. Really enjoyable!

End of game spoilers.

Spoiler:

What was with the Plane hostage thing after the credits? I had a blast shooting people with the shotgun during this!

COD4 is a dangerous, dangerous game to your sleep amount if you are competitive.

I usually wrap up gaming about 11pmEST. Last night it was about midnight because I kept gaining exp and getting closer to going up levels. I kept telling myself "one more game, I'm really close to levelling up." Next thing I know, its about midnight. I had to force myself to quit. As it was, I'm 40 exp points from level 12 which unlocks clan tag.

This game is going to have a lot of staying power. The multiplayer is a blast and even when I'm not doing too well, I have fun. Except for 1 person, I haven't heard any smacktalk or anything like that. Halo, while a lot of fun, can be frustrating if you are not doing well and the verbal sewage you sometimes hear would make even drunken sailors cringe.

I played for about 4 hours tonight. Up to level 16 and having a great time with the game. There is only one map I really dislike but unlike in Halo 3 people rarely seem to veto maps.

I managed to get a CoD4 fix last night by downloading the PC demo, and playing on my laptop for a bit. There is no ETA for the return of my 360 from the repair center.
