My Circuit City did appear to have some sort of mess up going on. None of the COD4’s had prices on them and they had to do some whacky crap to get me rung up.. But I did end up getting COD3 for free with it (paid full $60 for COD4).

Either way, I can't wait to play the game. I've loved every game in the series so far, and I'm sure this will not be any different.

I'm in tonight if there is room. I enjoyed the beta a lot so I'm hoping to get in some good games. Most in my clan aren't picking it up. So that leaves Martin, Miyu and Gramps plus the regular dvdtalkers that are getting the game.
I won't play with random strangers via matchmaking as that is no fun at all.

Vryce, I just picked up a copy for both H.I and me (he's out of town and wanted in on the CC deal too). So we will both been playing it as well since we just finished the Halo3 campaign.

Would anyone be willing to pick me up an extra COD3 and 4 for $30? I'll add an extra $5 for your troubles. The closest CC is an hour and a half away from me

As far as $30 copies of COD4...not at my local store. Here's a quick synopsis of my CC visit just awhile ago.

Went to video game section and COD4 is nowhere to be found. I ask the guy in the game section and he said to go to customer service as they are up there. After waiting awhile, woman supervisor looks for them, can't find them. Male supervisor looks up front, goes back to the back, goes back up front, goes back to the back again. Finally goes to talk to a third emploee, goes to the back again and comes out with a copy but says that he is not supposed to sell them to me since they don't come out today. I kindly point out the large cut-out of their ad in the video game section stating "available for sale on Tuesday 11-6-07 after 2pm."

He shrugs and goes his own way. I grab the only Gold edition copy of COD3 and grab the only regular version of COD3 (I'm getting a 2nd copy for a friend). I hid the Gold copy yesterday so there would be at least one as I knew it would be like this and their would be no supply for their advertised sale. Jeez.

The video game guy says he can check me out. After trying, he says I have to go to customer service because they have to ring out the free item. I go to customer service and there is a line of at least 8 people. After waiting a few minutes, luckily a nice young man states he can check me out at the only register open. I advise him of the situation of BOGO and he grabs a scan key and says he can do it. Fine.

We go to check out and I get him to ring them up as separate transactions. No biggie. The system doesn't recognize the BOGO (big surprise) and I have to show him the ad. He says fine and then proceeds to try to take COD3 off. He can't figure out how so instead of calling someone for help he just says, "I just won't ring up the free one, okay?" Hmmm, brilliant. So it's like I am stealing them from the store, almost. No transaction of me buying them for their paperwork, sale or stock purposes. Okay, whatever.

He rings me out at the $60 for each COD4 and off I go. I wanted to pick up a copy of Help! since it came out today but I didn't see any copies in the dvd section and I didn't want to be there another hour like it took for me to buy COD4.

Did CC ever consider they might be losing tons of money, more than they saved, by firing all their knowledgeable staff and hiring people (who don't have a clue what is going on) for minimum wage this past year? Just something to consider.

Does the game look identical on both the 360 and PS3?

I'll be on tonight as well, after midnight as usual. Was playing this last night. This game is amazing. I can't believe I missed out on the beta.

What a nightmare, the asshats in CC is astounding.

Went to CC #1, sorry we don't have COD4 (but had a few COD 3's. I planned ahead and hid 1 copy of COD3 among Gamecube games!

Goes to CC #2, have plenty of COD4, but no COD3 in sight.

Grrrr... Went back to CC #1 a few hours later. Cashier refuse to let me buy COD4 with COD3 (untouched in the Gamecube rack). She said I must buy COD4 LE to get it. I was like WTF, it does not say that in the flyer. Call the manager over, he spew the same BS to me. I said he is making stuff up and he said no. I told him to show me where it says I have to buy the LE, he points to the free poster which is not part of LE. He won't budge. At this point I was about to blow a gasket. So I decide to just buy COD3 hoping I can go back to #2 store and do a return/rebuy.

Went back to CC #2 and waited almost 1/2 hour in the customer service line and the guy there was super nice. Did a return and rebuy COD4 with the COD3.

So 5 subway trips and 2.5 hours later, I have COD4 and COD3 Gold Edition. Whew!!

I didn't even know there was a LE. Wonder if it is worth the extra $10?

Do you guys even want the COD3 or is it just to pawn off on ebay?

You'd have to do better than an extra 5 bucks, which would not be worth too many people troubles once you factor in paypal fees, shipping, envelope, and oh yeah taxes
