Great news!! I've been reading and hearing rumors that FFXIII might come out on the 360. Now that it's offical coming out, I no longer need to buy a PS3 just to played it.

I'll stick pick it up on the PS3 since Versus is still exclusive for the PS3(for now) and I would rather have both on the same system. Good news for all gamers in general. Just can't stand all the Xbox fanboys with all the "PS3 is DOOOOMED!!!!!".

I should have clarified that further. Not on this board but on other message boards such as CAG, gamefaqs and such.

Well that's what you get for going to other message boards.

Gamefaqs? I'm sure that conversation is going on there all the time, not just because of this announcement. Those boards are great for individual games, especially niche ones with less people on them (and thus less spammers and trolls), but the general console threads are crap.

The Final Fantasy series has jumped companies before. . The first six FF games were on nintendo They then jumped to sony for FF 7-12 six games for each company. So its not very surprising this would happen again

I cannot believe I started this thread. Had forgotten all about it.

Bad news for Sony. They could have used a big one.

Two things, first, they aren't jumping ship, Sony fans still get the game on the PS3. Second, yes, historically Square-Enix seem to jump to whatever console has the higher install base. That's business.

The Playstation wasn't that big yet when they went with Sony over the N64, was it? I thought that decision was made well before because of size.

Yes, and that's why i'm sure we'll see MGS 4 on 360 before long, after the exclusivity agreement wears out. Konami isn't stupid

This basically means I can put off my PS3 purchase till it hits $200. Nice.

I couldn't agree more. Loyalty is one thing, but making a ton of easy cash is another.

What makes you think Microsoft would want to port MGS4? The second MGS game was on XBOX and it bombed. MGS3 never appeared on XBOX. Why? And I dont think Microsoft wants to advertise the mac products. It's everywhere in that game.

Yeah, when a game eventually hits another system later, it rarely does well and is usually greeted with indifference. Lost Planet bombed on the PS3 and I don't think Unreal Tournament 3 is doing much on the 360. I don't expect Bioshock to sell very well on the PS3 either.

I agree except with Bioshock. I don't think it will bomb, Game of the Year has a certain weight attached to it and it might do alright on PS3, probably not gangbusters but it should fare well.

Did Unreal Tournament 3 do well on the PS3? It seemed to drop in price pretty quickly...

Didn't the GTA titles do pretty well on the Xbox? They were released quite a while after the PS2 versions, and I'm almost positive they were big sellers on the Xbox.

About 600k to 1 million I thought. So not so great compared to the PS2 sales, but good for Xbox games.

Re: FFXIII no longer a PS3 exclusive?

I was trying to find some sort of other official thread on this, but I guess there was none. Looks like this will be a 2010 game for sure though.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/945/945575p1.html

Wada also announced that Final Fantasy XIII would be released later in 2009 in Japan, while North American and European launches of the game would come in April 2010 or later.
