Actually, that is pretty cool. While I hate paying that many points for the older songs, I have no issue with paying that point cost for brand new content. Good news! And even better considering that my 360 is coming back from repair today

I think I'll get them too. I typically HATE the type of music My Chemical Romance (I'm no music aficionado, but I'm a classic rock/90s rock, and a little country music fan) does, but was riding with my brother somewhere and he had the CD with Welcome to the Black Parade on it, and I actually really liked most all of the songs...which was very odd for me.

Plus I'm picking up a couple $5 1600 point cards today, so it'll actually be the first stuff I ever buy on Live.

And surely this can't be their "big" announcement for August?

I'm certain that it is. Remember that their "big" july announcement was when they quietly released the 4th pack onto the marketplace.

Happy to have more songs....but pretty disappointed as this pretty much signals the end of GH songs on GH 2. Was looking forward to having all the songs in HD with bass tracks.

actually dont mind this, dead was one of the more fun songs to play, plus they're all masters which is good. but does anyone else feel they were kind of lazy when making the songs? (at least on medium) not much to them.

So how's the whole Harmonix/Red Octane thing working...I thought Harmonix had the rights to all the songs from GH1 & GH2? So once GH3 and Rock Band are out, those GH1 & GH2 songs will only be showing up on Rock Band, if anyplace?

Ok This Is How I Disappear is a lot more fun than the other two, but on medium they throw out two random orange notes. Not sure if on purpose or just a mistake.

I noticed that, I was like what the heck is up with the orange notes. It was still really fun though to see the orange notes even though I was not expecting them.

Any videos of the new songs on expert? I'm not familiar with the band besides "dead". If they are any easier than that song, I'll probably pass.

Wow...wait this long for new DLC and they drop this triple-turd on us.

Well, they're not my favorite band by any stretch of the imagination, but these songs are okay enough. I'm buying them.

They are actually pretty fun to play. Famous Last Words is a longer song that lets you get a lot of points. I have one person on my friends list that is good at the game and on his first try at the song on hard got a little over 400k. I bet you could get a nice 1000 note streak at least as well if you don't drop any notes.

I got 374,000 on Hard my first try. I think I can break 400K with a little practice.

Yeah, my first try on hard was about 295k.

Yup, the other packs of songs haven't interested me in the slightest, but I think that I'm actually going to pick these up. The 500 points for new material (especially considering that they are master tracks) makes it a little more palatable for me.

I started on expert and got a mid 300k score my first time through. I got over 400k my third time. It's funny, when notes repeat like that for a long time, I start thinking too much and I usually end up messing up my streak. Pretty fun song though.

That was my view as well. 500 points was still a bit high for me. But, as you said, they are 3 brand new songs, master tracks at that. It does make the price a bit easier to take over the re-released GH1 tracks that were already licensed and paid for and still trying to charge us 500 points.

I finally got my 400k achievement tonight with that new song. Now for some co-op.

Whew. Finally beat the game on hard. Was stuck on 'Laid to Rest' seemingly forever. Now I just need to 4 and 5 star everything, as I work my way through my expert career.

Now time to get that half million! I used x-stream to get that one. No solos, just some quick chord changes that can be mastered with a little practice.

iwas pumped to get my eddie van halen achievement last night thanks to MCR. :-) I sucked at the songs on hard though

Got the MCR songs...fun to play, but insanely easy (on medium). I could've got the 1000 note streak if I didn't have my head up my ass at the end of Famous Last Words. This would easily be the easiest song to get that streak on (at least for a crappy player like me).
