I tried Trogdor for the first time on expert last night - those notes at the end are impossible! I was watching my meter and couldn't hit 2 consecutive notes.

Maybe a USB splitter and a way to daisy chain 2 or more guitars to the same controller?

I beat the game on the Hard difficulty tonight which is something I honestly never imagined I would be able to do, but it's cool how you improve so much over time with this game. Time to start Expert, but I have serious doubts about that one because I can't/don't use HO's and PO's so I don't know how far I can go before I end up hitting a brick wall.

I'm surprised you got that far without HOs and POs. Just practice a few a the easy songs using that method. It doesn't take that long to pick it up. Freebird is the only song I haven't beaten on hard. I'm not that far off though. I'll get there.

I don't use them either, I'll have to try sometime.

I had GH1 & 2 for PS2, didn't plan on getting it for 360, but my brother-in-law just bought it for me yesterday for helping him with a bunch of crap.

I knew there was outrage over how they were doing the GH1 songs on Live, but have they really only released the 9 songs that it appears to me? There are 3 sets of 3 songs?

That's all they've released so far. There is supposed to be some announcement sometime this month concerning DLC.

Wow, so 3 sets of crappy overpriced songs? Yeah, I think I'll play 'em on my PS2.

Those are some of my least favorite songs from the game. Good to see they are all grouped together.

I like Smoke on the Water and my wife digs the Priest song. Not too hot on I Wanna Be Sedated, but I might be better at it with the addition of hyperspeed. I'll probably be picking up this pack just like the rest of them, but not right away.

So much for hope of reduced pricing.

No continued sale for me. A shame as I really, really wanted to support the DLC and get all the GH1 songs. I definetly am not at this point.

I downloaded all three new songs yesterday and five starred all three on my first try in expert mode. In fact, I five starred all the downloadable GH1 songs besides Bark at the Moon on my first try in expert. I wish they were a little more challenging. Are the rest of the songs from GH1 this easy?

Little Wing and Cowboys From Hell are very difficult. Everything else should be easy to 5 star first try if you are 5 starring most things on expert in GH2.

I still can't 4 star CfH which saddens me. I'm not sure why, but that song and I do not get along. I've seen guys who are amazing at it, but aren't that good at other songs, but it's the only that gives me trouble. Only Six on GH2 is harder in my opinion to 5* (Jordan is obviously harder to pass, but once you can pass it, it's not hard to 5*).

Edit: Of course you are playing this on the 360 which changes everything. CfH should be extremely easy on the 360 with the imrpoved HOPOs.

Stupid question: how are the stars figured on songs, by score or by % of notes hit? Because I'm not really good at it, just like playing now and then, not practicing until my fingers bleed, and once I get to medium on the harder songs, I have a hard time getting 5 stars. But it seems if I just sit in a chair and don't worry about doing power up double multiplier thingy, I can do better %-wise.

It's score-related. Scorehero.com has a list of all the score cutoffs for all songs. Technically, you only need to average a 2.7x (maybe it's 2.9x) multiplier to get a 5* rating, so you don't need to use Star Power to get 5*, but it makes it a whole lot easier.

Also, I've found that it's a lot more comfortable to play standing. You can get into the song more, and it's easier to tilt the guitar when necessary.

has anyone had any luck finding the extra guitar for the 360 anywhere? Outside of RO directly, every store seems to be out, or has never had it to begin with. Online stores seem to all be backordered with no idea of when (if ever) they are getting them in. I had an order with Dell ($50) that they cancelled after 60 days of being backordered.

yikes! those are $20 more than from RO directly. SEARS and Dell had them listed for 49.99. RO is 59.99. Guess I'll have to break down and order from there. I just wonder why more stores don't have the single guitar for this. It is as if they want you to buy the game pack twice in order to get the 2nd guitar.

Just buy a second game with guitar and return the game. It might be cheaper in the end.

How do you return the game without the guitar?

After hunting around a few weeks ago for just the guitar I gave up and ordered from red octane. They had free 2-day shipping codes floating around the 'net so it worked out great. During my hunt I talked to someone at Fry's who seemed knowledgeable and said they wouldn't get any in until November.

well, I got an hdtv for my birthday, and I won't be playing guitar hero ever again. Even with calibration it is pretty much impossible. Oh well, now I can get trucking on all the backlog I have with other games.

What kind of HD did you get? I have a DLP & an LCD, and I've played on a plasma. The only one I have issues on is the DLP, which when I tried to calibrate the game it ranged from 10-60ms, which is huge. Unfortunately the DLP is my "big" TV at 61", but I'm playing GH on a 32" LCD because of the lag issue.

happen to remember the code? I'm going to break down and order from RO, but free shipping would be nice.
