Wow, that's very true. I was thinking guitar only. I've been a guitar player for 20+ years but honestly I can't wait to sit behind the skins. RB release day is gonna be crazy, I won't know what to do first, lol.

What system is everyone getting this on? I'm leaning towards buying a ps3 to play it on for the cheaper wireless bundle. I wonder how difficult it will be to find people to play with though...

I traded in my PS3 to get the cash for this and GHIII. The thing was collecting dust and I knew these games, and their future sequels, would give me far more enjoyment than the PS3 had to date. While I am pissed the 360 version is more money to get a wireless guitar I am sure that feeling will fade away once the game is out.

If it was up to me I'd get the PS3, but unfortunately I'm the only person I know that has one. The game wouldn't be any fun if I couldn't shred my friends, so I'm goin' 360.

Same here! I'm a little disappointed that they're not sending the voice over live, but I guess that's a limitation of the technology more than anything.

It's good if you're playing with random people, but I wanted to hear the voice if I'm playing on Live with friends.

So wait...if you're playing with a band on live, you can't hear the vocalist?

streaming live voice and keeping it in sync with decent voice quality is a lot tougher than just sending the button presses (basically just a few 1's and 0's) over the network.

That is pretty disappointing, I kind of thought that having a singer in your online band was one of the big draws to this game all along. Since I'll very seldom have somebody over to play it, singing offline will be much less fun for me (the dog can only put up with so much of my screeching).

I guess I didn't think about how with voice chat already working there probably is some lag sometimes but it isn't too noticeable but in a game like this it would be needed to be exact.

Went into Gamespot and pre-ordered Rock Band for the 360. I noticed they just have the option of just buying the game or the big bundle or individual instrumnets.Does anyone know if there will be an option to buy just the game with a guitar?(just like GHII) I don't want to have to shell out another $80.00 for the guitar when I just paid $60.00 for the game.

Unlike GHIII I don't think there is a game & guitar combo for Rock Band.

They really should make another bundle that costs $10 more but includes the wireless guitar for the 360. It is amazing that the GH3 guitar bundle basically means you get the wireless guitar for only $40.

That and the rumored final list of songs, GHIII has the edge right now with 50 + another half dozen unconfirmed vs. Rock Band's 34 songs. Both will be heavy on DLC so that angle is a wash. Then the fact that you can't sing over live.

Guitar Hero III just looks more and more attractive every day.

I still think both will be great. Activision is just refining what we've had before, which is why it looks so polished compared to Rock Band, which is trying to go in several different directions at once.

Really excited for this game. They need to fix the voice over Live thing though, that's just ridiculous. Hopefully they will address this in an update, have they said anything about that? I don't buy that it's not doable, but I can believe that it's tricky. It's really a necessity though IMO.
